Spent hours looking at hotels and I have norrowed it down to Centara by Centara Avenue and LK Royal Wing.

Or has anyone got any other suggestions for a 20 night stay??

If I could choose only between those two then I choose Centara. Only because it is in the middle of the action close to LK Metro.

However and depending on the period you are going and budget, there are numerous alternatives in this region. My preference would be LK Residence or LK metropole in the LK Metro area.

You could also book a hotel for just a few days and have a look to other hotels for the remainder of your holiday.

Why don’t you stay at the Bay Breeze on Soi honey. The hotel is reasonably priced, clean, close to Bakaou, Diana, Chayapoon, Soi lenke, off second road, plenty of bhat buses, walking distance to beach road and the breakfast is quite decent.

I stayed at the LK Residence last time, great stay but disliked the having to climb in and out of the bath, very high and then no shower curtain so the bathroom would become a swimming pool.

I didn't like the look of LK Metro to be honest.

You’re likely to be even more undecided after the thread has run for a couple of days :P

You’ll likely get lots of suggestions.

If you know which area you’re likely to be spending most of your time then choose something not too far away at a budget you’re comfortable with.

I haven't noticed the Bay Breeze to be honest. Is it Guest Friendly?

The Royal Wing is a shithole for the price, to be honest.

I stayed there in 2015.  The hotel had only been open for a few years but it was already falling apart at the seams.  Just lots of little issues.  Things falling apart, things not working correctly, a shower that alternated between freezing and scalding.  Rusted balconies, stained curtains, just really, really poor.  I just remember thinking how unimpressed I was with everything.  I stayed in an executive suite.

I came back at one point and the housekeeper had left the door to my room propped wide open.  I don't think anything was stolen but.. still, you don't want your door left open for hours while you're gone.

I wouldn't think to stay there again at any price.  It's like anything LK in that Pattaya - you pay a high price for average to below average goods / services.

The location isn't awful, but it's not the best.

I'd personally recommend March hotel or April Suites.  I didn't have the best experience at August Suites, but it was still far better that LK Royal Wing - better hotel and better location (if only by 5 or so minutes).

Just my 2 satangs.

Hi James, thank you for your 2 satangs.

I do like the look of the March hotel, but a little concerned about it's location. I know nothing is too far away via baht bus ot motornbike taxi, however still concerned about it's location,

It's about 8-10 minutes to Soi 6 on foot, about 10-12 minutes to Beach Road.  LK Royal Wing is about 1 minute to Soi Buakhow, where you can pick up the baht bus going either way - although, they're less frequent than on 2nd road or Beach road, you may have to wait a few minutes.  The Royal Wing is a few minutes closer to LK Metro, but I estimate you could get to Walking Street in about the same time from either.

August Suites has a prime location right on PattayaKlang, but the rooms are a bit old.  The location can't be beat though.  April Suites is a reasonable compromise.

Personally, I've found myself at Soi 6 during a large part of my misadventures, so the August / April / March family suits me well.  If you're going to be spending a lot of time on Walking Street, perhaps a hotel on 2nd road or even Beach Road might be a good idea.  Anywhere on Beach, 2nd, or Buakhow is on the baht bus route though - and if you're in a rush, there's ALWAYS a moto taxi driver within a minute of wherever you are, happy to ferry you off to wherever you want.

Very guest friendly, they respect your guests. There’s a great massage parlour opp the hotel, not only do you get a good massage but they suck the last drop out of your nuts, you can also call them to your room. Breakfast is eggs made on site, decent bacon, sausages and some Asian fare.

Check out @mind premiere and executive suites. Also very nice in this price segment.

If it's your first visit I would book only 3 nights in your 1st choice. Your expected to pay up front for the whole of your stay in most places so shelling out all that cash for 20 days only to find out there's construction noise/4am karaoke bar near by can be a bit of a downer!

Bring a list of recommended hotels with you and spend an afternoon checking out rooms. It sounds a hassle but I once checked into a hotel on soi Bukhaow for 7 nights on a sunday and it was peace and quiet. I didn't notice they were building an extension in the rear of the then new hospital......oh fuck me the noise every morning at 6am! ......learned a lesson there!

Well I have norrowed my search down to 2 hotels and would welcome any comments or feedback

1. Centra by Centara Avenue hotel

2. Bay Breeze hotel

Posted

Centera avenue’s rate as of today 1900bhat as compared to Bay Breeze 1200 bhat. Both are deluxe rooms. Breeze is in a more livelier and a convenient location.

Price will, obviously, depend on your dates. I was getting very good prices for both Centara hotels in that location for July.

I can’t comment on the hotels themselves, but Bay Breeze is a busier, noisier location simply because it isn’t set back like the Centara.

Centara slightly better location to get around from but Bay Breeze also convenient. I’d go with whichever is cheaper for your dates - assuming it’s for a similar size/quality room.

Edit: BTW, I don’t know if you’ve already signed up to the Centara membership but when I tried it didn’t work!

When are you going? They’ve just started the initial foundation work for the new Edge condo development on the corner of Soi Diana and 2nd Rd.

Rooms in the Bay Breee that face that direction may have some issues with daytime noise. If you’re planning on sleeping all day this may effect you.

Rooms facing Soi Honey will be less effected.

The Bay Breeze is by far and away my favourite hotel, I’ve just returned from a stay there today, I’m hoping the noise won’t be too bad when I return in July.

I am going at the beginning of September.

Day time noise does not bother me. I stayed at the LK Residence last year and my room faced a Karaoke Bar ... that was annoying ... lol. If i ever hear Edd Bloody Shearan again!!!!!

I stayed there soon after it opened and the shower alternated between freezing and scalding so it looks like they never solved that issue!
