Heat & Swamp Ass

Recommended Posts

Posted

If taking a trip and not near a shower or your room it is easy to develop a case of swamp ass.

The best solution is a spare pair of underpants in you backpack.

Last thing you want is heat rash on your junk and around your poo hole.

Wondering if anyone had better options?

They said NAVY SEALS in Viet Nam went Commando and just never wore underpants.

Cotton boxers for me seems to do the trick.

Change them......a pair for the day and a pair to change into for the evening after a shower...stops the nasties multiplying. Laundries are cheap.

Use the bum gun, rather than paper to clean up.

Get some athlete's foot creme for your ass/crotch with Clotrimazole 1% in it. One application usually clears the skin breakdown right up but sometimes I'll do a second to be sure. Thai pharmacies have it (no prescription needed) and it's OTC at home.

Every hole a goal.

Condoms kill boners. Save the boners.

Stop the Vagilantes.

Cotton? that is the worst. Totally absorbs moisture and stays wet!

You need synthetic - i have microfibre. Its like very thin and silky.

If you get a sweat rash, you need hydrocortisone cream.

Cotton for me too. I bought some Thai jocks that are not cotton and they are like wearing a plastic bag. Moisture just clings to them.

Not just any polyester breathes, it has to be the high tech stuff that isn't cheap. The cheap stuff will say it breathes but doesn't and often it stinks after being soaked with sweat and it won't wash out. Stick with the name sports brands. The outdoors persons got it right, "Cotton kills.". Once wet, it doesn't dry. Moisture provides a good medium for skin breakdown and bacteria growth. High tech polyester never really feels wet because it's super thin and porous, allowing the moisture to pass through it.

Cotton is the DEVIL. I buy the Uniqlo Airism Boxer Briefs. They're microfiber, quick drying, and odor resistant. The best thing I've purchased for travel in years.

One option is bringing your body fat down from morbidly obese to Ethiopian marathon runner.

Fascinating how different people react to different things.  A day in synthetic and I’m red all over the sweaty bits.....not a great look.

Where are you from Bobby. Obviously not australia.

7-11's are your friend. When walking more than 100 metres you will pass one. Walk in and stand in front of the air con coming from the ceiling. When you are fresh move on. You dont even have to buy anything

How would any self respecting Australian feel if he walked into 7-11 and saw me there fanning my sweaty ballz under the breeze of the aircond?

I always buy baby powder on my first day in country.  Apply it on and around your junk and up your ass.  I never get swamp ass and my privates smell nice.

If you want a better experience with your "date"... read, learn, live the following:

I use wicking boxers but sometimes sweat just wicks its way to the outer shorts. So depends what you are doing and how much you sweat. Cotton boxers tend to get damp and stay damp so again depends what you are doing.

I use powder some days.

I use coconut oil some days before going to sleep, its anti bacteria and good for all that area

I had this issue for quite awhile. UnderArmor compression shorts were trash, so were the adidas...loose boxers always got me chaffing...cotton were just soaked in nut butter after a walk down WS. I ended up buying a couple pairs of "Exofficio" sport mesh shorts(you can find it on Amazon) and man they are great! Kinda pricey, but you really only need two or three. They are super lightweight, made to wash real quick in the sink, and you can hang dry them in a couple hours. The entire short is breathable mesh material, not just the banana hammock like most "ultracool airwicking etc" bullshit briefs. Throw a little GoldBond down there for some extra help if you need it.

This would be my recommendation...spent a fair bit of time in the jungles of SEA when I was in the military and this was a lifesaver. Easily available in Thailand too

I use baby wipes and then put some goldbond on that ass crack. Keeps it nice and clean.
