Evening all, I'm coming over on Sat for 3 weeks, I've got an upper back tooth which my UK dentist has told me may need a crown.

So is dental work recommended in Pattaya, and recommended dentists to carry out the work, at what kind of costs, and is 3 weeks sufficient to complete the work.

Cheers all

Dentistry in Thailand is very cheap, but it's quality for more complicted , verses basic fillings etc , is open to debate. A few years back i had some very complex dental procedures , done in the UK , i am sure none of the dental centres would even consider, taking on the treatments i had done.

There are plenty of decent dentists. Can’t advise on costs.

Dentist at the Beach in Central has a good reputation but is probably one of the more expensive. Other BMs have recommended one on Pattaya Klang and a couple on Pattaya Tai but I can’t remember the names.

I’m lucky as I still have an NHS dentist in the UK so don’t need to fork out a small fortune.

Had Dental Hollywood do a root canal followed by a custom-made post then crown, all on the same tooth. My regular dentist in the U.S. later did some full xrays and said the work "looked good" when asked and it's been problem-free for several years. The cost was 10% of what the U.S. dentist quoted me but he is in the most expensive market in the U.S.

Go to Bkk Pattaya Hosptial and pay more for a real set up.

All those little clinics are hack spots and the reason they pop up like mushrooms.

If you need just a cleaning then fine - any real dental work where you may need

followup care - spend a bit more for the hospital.

I have several dental visits in Pattaya. I have had really good luck with Pattaya International Dental Clinic.

Went there when I did my dental implants. I wandered around trying to get quotes. I got a lot of the doctor is not in, too busy etc. I remembered watching a YouTube video from Kev-in-Thailand mentioning he was happy with PDIC. I went there and they had great customer service. It is on Soi Bukahoa just north of Soi Honey with a brown sign. Across the street is a large hotel painted purple ( I think it was part of the Sawasadee hotel chain). I hope I remember the pricing correctly.

Dental Implants were 50,000 each ( There might be other dentists less expensive)X-rays and having the bad tooth removed was included in the implant fee.

I had some crowns done (15,000 each )

Filling 15,000

cleaning 1000

consultation was free

Most of the employees spoke English well and were polite

They told me most patients will need a 4 month healing time while your jawbone fuses to the metal post. The crown is added later. Danm that meant I had to take an extra trip to Pattaya and see  all those hot Thai ladies again.

Hope that gives you a rough estimate of some pricing

15K for a filling??

Posted

I don't know where my mind was. Yes 15k would be too much for a filling. I think most fillings will be 1000 to 2000 baht. I just did 2 fillings and a cleaning this week 3500 baht.

I had crowns done within a 2 week holiday. If I remember right it was close to 500.00 US per crown. I had dental work at Pattaya International Dental Clinic. On Soi Bukahou, about 50 meters north of Soi Honey. Prices may vary, especially with current exchange rates. There are tons of clinics in Pattaya. You might see what others are charging as well. The 2 dentists I dealt with were trained in Germany and the USA, they have good English as well. I wasn't sure where to go at first but I remembered this video and I knew it would be a good place. look for Kev-in-Thailand's video on Pattaya Dental Clinic
