I have stayed here before and had a good stay. On a small Soi off of Soi Buakaw near the Hospital (150 meters or so from LK Metro). 

It is a monthly residence but the do open up some rooms for daily/weekly stay. I found this room on Airbnb, used a first time customer discount and got the 465b rate (listed on hotel websites for over 800b).

Brings back memories; possibly same room (although likely all the same and wasn't decorated like that nor did it have a kettle) where I stayed when Baku Boutique Guesthouse refused to honour a booking I had made.

Cheap and cheerful, good location, enclosed balcony kinda weird, friendly and helpful staff. Certainly wasn't as cheap as in the OP but if I remember correctly it was around 900 Bht per night for a walk in.

^ I also thought the staff was nice. Not on duty 24 hours. around something like 9am-9pm. Works out fine for me, can enter with your key card and can bring lady(s) up to the room unhindered.

Good WiFi, free coffee, tea and water in the lobby.
