Just noticed that they are starting to build at The Edge. The site was cleared and sat untouched for many months, but the heavy equipment is rolling in. Going to be lots of noise at the LK Residence for quite a while.

The site clearing was only finished about 3-4 weeks ago.

And that would be me, staying at LK and Bay Breeze for a few weeks starting next week. I guess it’s kind of lucky I’m not one to sleep past about 8am not matter what time I get in.

Thanks for confirming that my memory isn’t completely shot. I was sure that it was cleared when I last visited in July of 2018.

If those 2 bars between the Areca Lodge and Area 51 with the karaoke type set up are the ones you are referring to. 

Also add in the complex across from the LK Residence.

There isn't enough heavy equipment in Pattaya to make that happen.

One of the girls is quite a good singer IMO and sings some good songs but the volume is waaaay too loud. I'm sure it drives more customers away than it attracts.

The good news is as of the 15th of Feb still no noise but I’m guessing it’s not far off.

to the left rear the twin towers of the base condo. ahead centre lk residence on soi diana. extreme left and out of sight but with some rooms overlooking the work area is the bay breeze hotel  in soi honey

these machines are screw type devices rather than the older method of simply thumping in piles. not as noisy when i have seen them in use but still a bit..................esp when the screw comes to the surface and they shake the head to and fro to remove the extracted earth.

 there was no noise from the site at the time i passed by

A big development began next to my place. I was ready to move when the piles started to be pounded.

Luckily, a gigantic Hydraulic press is being used and quietly shoving the large concrete piles into the hard soil down to bedrock. Never seen that before. Impressive power there.

i'm not an engineer but i think for a tower the height of the edge the only way to get the piles deep enough is to screw a hole put in re-bar and pour in concrete

Have LK lower their prices 'cos of the noise? maybe worth asking for a discount.

i looked in the gate last night on route to retox and it looked pretty much the same. the piling has been finished for some time but they are still messing about with the foundations. once all the groundwork is done progress should be pretty rapid. that's what happened with the base

Thanks for the thread.  I have reserved a week from 17-24 July nonrefundable so it will be interesting to say the least.  I was going to stay there for three weeks so this saved me from extending.

i will go over there this week while I am staying at the LK the Empress to see how I can minimize the sound.  I reserved a one bedroom suite.

Does anyone know where the suites are located in relation to the construction?
