On my last visit to Pattaya i stayed at the LK Residence, enjoyed my stay nut would like to try another hotel when i visit in September...

I am looking at the LK Royal Wing or LK Royal Suite hotel, but finding it difficult which one to choose, has anyone got any thoughts on either of these 2 hotels??

I have also looked at the Chada Thai House, but I am slowly going off the idea. So which is best LK Royal Wing or LK Royal Suite hotel?

Stayed in Royal wing October. Looking well worn. Needs furniture update. I never popped into Royal Suite.

They are about 100 metres apart. Location is not an issue

Is one better than the other as they are similar price?

Depends how much you want to pay. I stayed in royal suites a few times in a 1 bedroom suite. Around 3000 Baht from memory. They are huge, 80 sq metres. Absolutely awesome. The room has a huge spa bath and separate kitchen. The attention to detail from the cleaning staff was amazing. It took 3 ladies 30 minutes to clean the room. 2 saunas. nice pool. baht bus at the front. The buffet breakfast is good but finishes around 11am so it can be a bit of a struggle getting there in time. From what I remember the cheaper rooms are actually in a building across the road. Royal wing is down the side soi around 100 metres further down - I have never stayed there.

Unless you are staying for a long time it doesnt really matter where you stay. As long as you are on a baht bus route its all good.

It is shaded alot of the time. But the lounges along the side of the pool are in the sun most of the time

Stayed at the Royal Wing many times, my favourite hotel in Pattaya. The only negative is the noisy aircon units on the balcony that are best turned off if you want to sit outside. Large rooms, comfy beds, great pool.

Never stayed in Royal Suite as it always has showed up more expensive and the pool looks a bit shit.

I'll be staying at LK Royal Suites in 4 weeks. I'll be happy to report back.

I have stayed at both. They are both good but I like the one bed apartments in the royal suite so that gets my vote. If you are staying for 20 days why not split the time between the 2. I did the same when I first stayed in that area. The bell boy at the royal wing wheeled my case to the royal suite for me

I prefer Wing, stayed there loads of times.

whenever I have stayed at Royal Suite I was in a room top floor in the next building, so had traipse all the way down, though reception and then up again to use the pool, which I didn't think was as big as the rooftop pool at Royal Wing.

Also a lot quieter up the end of the Soi where Wing is.

Centra Avenue is a good choice, in an awesome location,  if you can bag a room at 1100-1200 thb. Ultra modern rooms with everything touch screen...nice little rooftop pool area and gym too. Avoid the breakfast.

Yes, I am very interested in the Centara Avenue, good location and very modern. The price is up & down like a brides night dress so will keep my eyes open for the right deal. I have already emailed regarding their guest policy and there is no problems in that department!

Yes mate, guest friendly. Security though is tighter than normal as the hotel has many Jewish guests (indeed on one of the floors I’m told there is a synagogue...not joking). Shared a few beers round the pool one day with some nice young lads from the Israeli Defense Force, they told me an Israeli guy owns the place.

Im a fan of this hotel, if it can be got for around 1,200. I have seen it up at 1,800-2000 and at those rates better hotels can be found (eg Acqua)...but I have also seen Flash Sales, with prices under 1,000 - at those sort of rates it’s a steal.

Both are very good. About 200m apart.

RS

Big Buffet breakfast. Better Pool, on 1st floor with Gym attached, good sun in afternoon.

Manager lady on reception can be difficult at times.

If staying in the 32m sq rooms across the Soi can take 2 girls up no problem if no security. Sometimes they put security on this building if some guests are taking advantage of their booking policy or being rowdy.

RW

Rooftop pool is ok. Very quiet location. Only noise if you have noisy neighbours.

Probably 200-300Bht per night cheaper for standard room. Extra walk to Soi Buahkow to get baht bus.

Better Wifi, good for streaming.

Its newer so rooms look a bit fresher than RS

Can bring 2 girls up unnoticed if you take the lift from the carpark

The only thing that puts me off is that sink in the bedroom !!!

I am interested in staying at the Royal Suite myself but I am failing to tell the difference (apart from the colour of the furniture) between the one bedroom suite and the versace suite?

Also myself and my wife do like to spend most of our days relaxing by the pool and the Centara Avenue's pool looks like it would be totally shaded by the surrounding buildings?

Info received from other members it looks like the Royal Suite has a decent pool which seems to get a decent amount of sun during the day?

Cheers

Versace room is 80m sq  V's 32m sq. More than twice the size. quite nice at about 50% more price wise. These will be on the upper floors(6 or 7 I think). Self contained kitchen also.

RS gets good sun 10am-4,00pm around the pool and there is a nice undercover shaded area close to the pool also. There is a walk over bridge that really adds to the setting.

RW

pool is better for doing a few laps as its longer.

Thanks for the info, do both rooms have a full kitchen?

I normally stay at the Avani and have done for years (15 years to be exact) but this year we fancy a change and really want a hotel with a kitchen in it so we can just make our own food from time to time instead of having to eat out all the time. We have been looking at condos but just cant seem to find one with good location (centre of town like the Avani), clean and nice pool which gets the sun
