Has anyone stayed at this Beach Road hotel?  I couldn't find any good info searching the forum.

I understand that the hotel is old, one of the first built on Beach road in the 60's but it sounds like it has been maintained pretty well.

Room prices seem to be pretty good for what you get.  Any feedback, especially as far as guest friendliness would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have not stayed there, but did take a look at the rooms about 2 years ago.

The location was good, but after looking at the room, they were very small. I'm thinking about 18 m and the larger one about 25 m.

I do remember they telling me that they were guest friendly.

The reviews on Agoda are pretty good.

Thanks for the feedback,

I found it on Agoda.  My problem is that my trip extends into November (Nov 10) and a lot of the hotels I like don't release their November inventory until much later.  I know it's OCD on my part but I like to get the hotels firmed up as soon as my flights are scheduled.

I am booked at the Areca for 9 days in October, then going to Angeles City for 6 nights and staying at the Queens.  When I return to Pattaya on the 31st I have a room for one night at the Areca, but that is as far as I have gotten.

I like the location of the Nautical Inn and I am also looking at some Beach Road properties closer to Soi 6 as I have never stayed down there before.

I often stay at Nautical Inn during long weekend trips to Pattaya. Great central location with easy access to both Beach Road and Second Road. Very nice long-serving staff. The draw for the me is the quiet laidback charm and the very 80s/90s vibe of the place - a nice little bubble away from the hustle and bustle of 2019 Pattaya outside.

However, the rooms are small and pretty basic in terms of amenities (I’ve only stayed at the ones by the pool, not in the main building.) Breakfast is not good. Not sure about internet as never used it. Don’t think there’s a gym. I usually only stay 2-3 nights at a time so these aren’t drawbacks to me but I can see that they might be to someone expecting a more ‘modern-day’ hotel experience.

I have stayed there three times, every time at the ground floor by the pool area. My last visit was in 2015 though but I'm guessing not much have changed there.

The place feels a bit old and if you gotta evacuate your room for at least half an hour every day when the maid poison it with her bug-spray (usually not a problem, but on my last trip i got sick for 4 days and had to stay in or near my bed).

It's a nice hotel for the price though (1000 bath in 2015), quiet as Julio stated, but still close to the action.

Just remember to either wear a helmet or watch out for the falling coconuts near the pool loungers. ;)
