Stopover in Amsterdam worth it or not (quick mongering)?

I can do the usual Toronto to Hong Kong/Taiwan then to BKK or for a change take a Toronto to Amsterdam (5 hour and 11 hour stopovers) and go check out the Red Light district.

Is it worth mongering there or is it too expensive and/or nothing special?  Would you stick to the original plan for speed or go for a new experience?  If it's overpriced nonsense and I'm better off saving my money for Pattaya, let me know.

Thanks.

I wouldn’t bother, save your money for Pattaya, I think a 11hr stop over isn’t enough, there’s a lot less ladies in Amsterdam and it’s to much business like, you’ll get more for your money in Pattaya, I think most of the people go mainly for the smoking.

I  did this on my last trip in November.   Not worth it.   Too expensive.   Guys say it is 50 bucks but that just gets you into the door.. its more if want girl naked and certain positions.    I think want a change I would do a stop over in Hong Kong and do a day trip to Macau.  There was a trip report on this not too long ago.. Macau has a lot of spa's, you just a pick a girl have a lot of options like massage to full service.   If really want a Europe stop over I would do Frankfurt and go to the FKKs.

Amsterdam died about 15yrs ago, imho.

Absolutely skip it if you are time and/or budget limited.

I was thinking about doing this last year. When booking the trip with Delta had to option to fly to Amsterdam (KLM) with about a 6 hour layover.

I figured out with the only 6 hours, I would have to find a place for my 2 carry on bags, past through immigration both on available and departure and then find transportation from and back to the airport. I think I would have ended up with less than 2 hours to have any fun.

I just stuck with my connection with Korean air, which got me into BKK about 4 hours earlier than the KLM connection.

I little away from The Hauge I have work there twice, just a few minutes by tram is a small like version of Amsterdam. But the girls there many are hot from Russia and brazil and Eastern Europe  ..model like for 50 Euros for say 15 minutes of pleasure. :)

Iv`e never been to Amsterdam and i have no interest to be honest, even though it only an hours flight away for me.

From what i can gather from reports and peoples comments its a case of....the women clock watching, no kissing, no DATY, no BBBJ,  and overpriced for 15 minutes of well...... ordinariness, ie a waste of money.

I can imagine its ok for a look, but i`d save my money.

Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The Canalbelt, Rijks, Anne Frank museum, Heineken Experience... plenty of reasons to visit!

Agreed, and if you want a quick, fairly vanilla fuck then you can in the RLD. Or you go online and theres hundreds of escorts offering harder services.

Its not great for a quick stop over, its a place you need to fully immerse yourself into to reap the benefits.

I think I'll continue to give it a swerve.

Sounds like one of my buddy's experiences there.  They just want it to be an assembly line and the faster, the better.

I guess I'll skip it unless I do a real vacation there.  There are more things than Red Light Districts that interest me but it doesn't sound feasible to do it on time constraints, especially if it's sub-par.

I like the Dutch and Amsterdam is a beautiful city but awful for mongering.

I did enjoy Alkmaar and Den Haag though but might not be worth the hassle of going for such a short time.

The red light district there is a big tourist ripoff, some shady characters try to sell you all kinds of drugs (Very aggressive sellingtactics, watch out)

The Service from the girls is pretty bad and mechanical, besides this expect to be applauded at from the uncountable tourists on every corner, when you go in with the Girl.

I tryed it once, the Girl wanted to blow only with condom and shit like this.

Even though it sounds a nice idea visiting the Red Light District whilst stuck in transit in Amsterdam.  It sounds like your better off finding something else to do to help pass the time

I agree...the tarts there are pretty cold...no big deal.

Central station is only a 15 minute train ride away or take a train to station Zuid and get on the metro. It depends what time of the day/night your stopover is Utrecht is a short train ride away you could go online and find out about the private clubs near to Schiphol/Amsterdam/Utrecht.There are a couple of small red light light areas in Amsterdam but the windows are only worth it if you are willing to pay all the extras you are just a John.

If you think you might be better off saving your money for Pattaya then you can't afford Amsterdam.

It totally changed when the Eastern Bloc girls joined the EU and started working there. Then the city cut the number of windows by about 60/70% too.

It's only about 7 or 8 Euro's return on the train from Schiphol to 'Dam Central though so if you have time then no reason not to go for a look around at least.
