Irbesartan Recall

Now I'm really pissed off. I just saw on CNN that Irbesartan , which I have been taking daily for over 40 years, is being recalled. The reason is that the Chinese suppliers of some ingredients have been lacing it with a carcinogen. Can't we just stop buying shit from China until they get their shit together?

Does anybody know if Approvel, the main local brand in Thailand, is included?

Eleven years ago a Chinese-produced anticoagulent, heparin, was banned in the U.S. because of impurities. The cheap Chinese medications had forced all domestic producers of the medication out of the anticoagulant business so there was a dramatic shortage of this life saving medication and people had to take, "the next best thing". Most of North America is unaware of how dependent it is on critical medications from China.

Last year the EU banned Chinese heparin for the same reason, contamination with harmful substances. Here's a link.

Every hole a goal.
