Visa rules

An article recently quoted a senior immigration person talking about making things easier for retirees by doing away with three months reporting.

it seems to ignore things that have become much more difficult for this group,  the recent changes to the requirements to renew annual visas, the tightening of the income rules, and the increased problem of getting embassy verification.

from my own recent  effort to renew my visa by going there myself, which for the first time in ten years proved to be a huge hassle, I cannot escape the impression that, in spite of the lofty promises by that official, the changes put in place were primarily aimed at driving more and more people to use immigration consultants, a huge costs, to increase the flow of tea money to the immigration service.

i hate corruption, and I resent having to resort to it, when nothing in my circumstances has changed, and I bring in more then the required contribution to the Thai economy each year.
