Flying with this airline for the very first time later this year using the A350 via Munich to BKK.

Anyone flown them in economy recently and care to offer any information or thoughts about service, comfort etc?

bit late to be asking this? but just to ensure your expectations are low, Lufthansa is shit house across the board.

Never flown the 350. I've used the 777-300 out of Frankfurt many times.

Good service, food etc

Flew with LuftHansa Jumbojet Boeing 747-400 from Frankfurt to BKK January last year, and was very pleased,

big seats and few passengers with lots of empty seats!

My preferred route to Bangkok is Lufthansa via Frankfurt.  I always fly economy but pay the supplement for a good legroom seat.  I'm very happy.

One nice advantage of going via the evening flight out of Frankfurt is that you get the chance to spend the day before in one of the big FKKs.  Frankfurt is better than Munich for FKK visiting.

Last time when I flew with them via Frankfurt, they were ok. 747-400 so not the most advanced IFE, but in all acceptable seats and service.

We all do things in different ways, that's OK, but I fly with my tablet with loads of content of my choice on it, so I completely ignore the IFE but having a seat with power suitable for a tablet is much more important for me.  The big Lufthansa plane has good power to a USB socket in your seat.  I've actually specially bought a right angle bend USB cable to fit that socket best.  My tablet's battery wouldn't be able to cope with 10-12 hours video playing on one charge.

So Lufthansa tried to switch my flights onto Eurowings...at first I didn't notice as they sent me one of those change e-mails which appeared to be just a change in flight times but on closer inspection I found that they had actually changed carrier between Germany and Thailand from Lufthansa to Eurowings.

I didn't pay Lufthansa prices to end up on a budget airlines 1990s A330 so cancelled and got a full refund...rebooked same dates with BA out of Heathrow at about €100 cheaper.

Anyway, just a word of warning, the actual carrier change was not immediately obvious to me from the e-mail and I could see people being caught out by this

Have flown them recently long haul although not to BKK. They are one of the better "legacy airlines" for quality and service in my opinion. They are at the back of the field when it comes to the race to the bottom  that many of the european airlines are engaged in at the moment
