I am a big Bangkok fan, so my goto is this hotel. Nothing fancy, but you can't be the location. hotel review Bangkok112 style.

About 1500 no breakfast inc, but good hotel

1680 Baht for a New (refurbished) room at the back, away from  traffic. Coffeshop at the front is prime locasion for people/Girl watching.  Transport to/from airport - local rates better but good on departure
