Holiday Inn Express Koh Larn?

In May 2018 it was announced that a Holiday Inn Express would be opened on Koh Larn "this year".

Any news on that? Has anyone seen this site recently?

The Holiday Inn Express on Soi Buakhao has been under construction for 2.5 years so it sounds a bit optimistic that one will open on Koh Larn this year unless they take over an existing hotel.

IHG was supposedly taking over Sealey Resort at Tawean Beach, with additional new construction.  But a Google search shows no updates after the May 2018 announcement.  Perhaps the deal has fallen through.

WHY would you want to stay on Koh Larn anyway? It is a barron shit hole with absolutely nothing to do apart from rent a bike and hit the beaches that all look exactly the same. 

If you want an island experience head 90 minutes further afield and go to Koh Samet.
