40 minutes to go through Customs

Dear BM, my flight will land at Suvanabhumi Airport at 16:20, do you think it's possible for me to catch the 1700 air port bus to Pattaya? Any one have experience about the busy level of customs during that time? I don't want to wait till 1800 for Bell travel bus. It just a waste of time waiting in the air port. Thank you for your help

Unlikely.

Even if you touch down on time, plane has to get to gate, then getting off, walking to Immigration, queue, wait for luggage...

Unlikely but take a look at this site

https://www.bangkokflightservices.com/home/bfs-services/premium-airport-services/

At a cost they can get you through immigration very quickly but I don't think they can sort out your suitcase

I doubt it, especially if you have luggage.

And if Customs does a luggage check you can forget that timeframe...

I always have a prebooked taxi waiting...lots of info on other threads...good luck

Actually they can't; been stopped recently Although the more expensive one seems still to be able to do it (limousine something or other).

us the extra hour to buy a sim and have it installed, Have a piss, change some money, buy a few beers at the famoly mart and maybe some ice. If you smoke have a couple. Go up to departures and grab a grieving Teerak who is heading back to Pattaya to help you unpack when you get to your loom. But It can be done in 40 minutes. Longest I took when when some smartarse "i have been to Thailand 10 times and never had to fill in an arrival card:" then proceeded to fill the bastard in on the spot and left his passport in his hand luggage. He was goinmg to "Riip your fooking head oef" after I had a crack at him for being a dickhead. Anyway he took about 3 steps before the nothing to declare line and was dragged over by customs preumably to cavity search.

BFS are not currently doing the escort and fast lane service for people with economy tickets.  There is a thread about it.

These guys are still doing it, well at least according to the thread:

And the immediate bus is likely to have been sold out already. Several times I have found the tickets available are for the next bus, even before the current bus has arrived/unloaded/loaded/departed. I typically go into the food court and kill the time.

You might get lucky by hanging about by the bus and if it is not full you can tip the lady and she will let you on.

So people who fly economy can no longer use BFS? Since when? I hope not as I like to use it when I visit :/

Thank you all for the reply. I think I will just go ahead booking a taxi instead of taking the bus.

I'll have to try and find the thread because according to there website they are still providing the service for people flying economy.  Actually there websites doesent say they wont accept bookings from people flying economy.  If you book online with them how will they know if a person is flying economy

You can check the Suvarnabhumi website to see the arriving flights at that hour, if there are several flights from China/India/Korea, you won't make it to the Bell bus in 40 mins.

In fact, based upon my frequent trips to pick up friends, 40 minutes is about average, and that figure is backed up by the experience of a friendly taxidriver I know.

that means, if you already have a ticket, you have a 50% chance of catching your bus, 50% chance of missing it...

yes, I’d take a cab instead.

I’ll save you my recommendation, I’m sure by now you”ll know my views on that.....

the timing is too tight. but it's not customs that causes delay they are rarely awake. its immigration and collecting any baggage that takes the time

Here is the thread about it:

You'll have to read down the thread a bit before it gets to the topic.

If either of you guys can find information that proves otherwise that would be great as I would prefer to use the BFS.

Definitely cancelled the service. Notified by email from them offering full refund. Only first class or business class can use the service. Hate waiting 40 - 50 mins. just to get through immigration.  If all the booths were open fair enough but when half are closed it pushes me off.

Just tried booking BFS and the following page came up:

https://www.bangkokflightservices.com/Premiumservice/customer/booking_select_service.php

The link says:

We regret that premium service is

TEMPORARILY OUT OF SERVICE

Sorry for the inconvenience

I'm not flying till December so I will try again but have a funny feeling I won't be able to book.  So I will have to try and be nice to the cabin crew when I fly and see if I can get them to give me a pass that is used by first class and business class to get through Immigration fast

I'd suggest Nam Taxis from Pattaya. They will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel in Pattaya for 1200 Baht. You can find them online.
No hassles, female drivers who drive with care and decent cars - last time I got a pretty new Lexus but was still charge the 1200 Baht.

They do a great job.  Perhaps you should consider adding a tip to that...

What a strange decision. I wonder what their reasoning was to do this. Looks like I'll be joining the masses at normal immigration in December ffs lol.

I’m guessing it was the airport who made the decision rather than BFS. Likely too many people using the service. When I got off the plane 3 weeks ago there were 6 or 7 buggies waiting at the gate!

The other company are still offering the service, as far as I know. There were quite a few staff and buggies from a company I’d not heard of as well (can’t remember name now). Maybe that’s the one that offers the free service to disabled passengers arranged by airlines.

Maybe the airport is not getting a cut of the money from BFS and perhaps the airport are having to fund more staff to keep up the level of service. By restricting the service they are possibly able to stay within staffing budgets.
