Full Moon Party

i've heard that loads of people simply sleep on the beach during the party

is this right?

is it safe?

I've seen people asleep on the beach getting their stuff robbed by the ladyboys. Not advisable.

You can easily get a boat from Samui or the mainland to Ko Pha Ngan, and if you check the backpackers hostel/cheap hotel websites you can find reasonable prices, but you do need to book early. (try hostels.com)

If you would like to learn to dive I would suggest timing you trip to take in a full moon party before or after a trip to Ko Tao, which is one of the best and cheapest places in the world to take PADI courses, and is a relatively short boat ride away.(Relative always being 2/3 hrs!)

The ladyboys working in a group of 3 or 4. One ladyboy is hunting a drunken guy, the other look and safe him. When the first stole something a other walk to him and take the stolen thing. So when the victim know something stolen the ladyboy say "check me, i have nothing stolen". Many times i looked them because when they see i know what they do then they stop.

If you not look soned, the drugdealers on fullmoon ask many time "you need cocain, marihuana, pill, extasy". Maybe in 1 hr 20 times, crazy. The drugs are the big business on the fullmoon and on the halfmoon party.

If you have never been to one, then do not miss the chance.

But most people probably have enough with one full moon party.

Ive been to a few. I book up in Chawang, Koh Samui then they supply taxi to port & speedboat over.

The boats return all times thru the night but we normally get the last one or end up on the ferry.

Obviously be careful & don't buy drugs off strangers.

As for the girls i usually have a TG with me, there are plenty of falang girls but i can't be bothered with trying to pull them.

Maybe the better looking younger guys will have no probs.

It is a good experience tho & worth seeing at least once.

Have Fun!

No problem, you can go around the block when you know the way. They chart entrance fee only on two points in haad rin.

you might have noticed in a recent post me asking about the FMP on koh larn (specifically because i figured the attendance would be high with gorgeous and willing russian babes), and now that i have learnt this was a short-lived thing, im definitely going to next january's FMP on phangan.

it seems to be absolutely impossible to find accommodation on or near haad rin now, almost 2 months before it! probably a good indication that its very much bloated with tourists. however, this doesnt bother me because there will be more vulnerable swedish (or possibly other nationalities on a case by case basis) girls to pick up and drag back to my room (not literally ;) - although sounds like ill only really have to drag them to the beach a few metres away! lol!

if anyone has any tips on accommodation that might not be booked out already nearby (something that doesnt get advertised much), that would be sweet. otherwise there is one shitty resort that seems to have rooms available (vimarna samut) which i would have to default on.

not being totally hideous, fat or retarded, im sure ill have a chance with the young, even relatively sober ladies (TBH i do prefer european women, thai girls are nice too but i cant lie to myself), and i would take unpaid sex over gogo and bar girls ANY DAY, and frankly you might be silly not to i think given the circumstances.

anyway, ill be sure to post my pics in this thread. ill probably take my camera and not get too smashed so i dont get robbed. but another reason i want a closeby resort is so i can take a bunch of photos + video, and then return my camera to my room and come back with just some rubbers and small amount of cash on me so i dont have that fear. not sure if ill go through with this plan. we'll see.

phangan does have some nice beaches, as i have been before. the beach outside malibu beach bungalows is phenomenal, and thong noi pan (and the other one) are nice too. it is still a relatively nice island and good for some eye candy at times.

i know but how easy? dont they completely rip you off on the trip back though? figure the reasonable cost of accommodation + boat trips would cancel out overpriced accommodation near the party.

how long is the boat ride on a private speed boat? also 30mins? or quicker? ill give it some more thought but im not sure if ill want to do this. a couple of beaches on phangan are worth the visit and 4 days there isnt so bad i think.
