ALL boats in Pattaya must now pick up and drop off at Bali Hai Pier as of May 1st, 2018.

Pattaya-

On Tuesday, the 24th of April, a meeting at City Hall attended by Pattaya City Officials, Police, Tourist Police, The Army and government officials decreed that all boats, private or public in Pattaya must now pick up and drop off at Bali Hai Pier located near Walking Street effective the 1st of May.

This includes all the Chinese Tour groups dropped off and brought back, the paragliding operators, the folks bringing private tourists to islands, etc. It does not, however, included Jet Ski operators as they are not a private boat.

Officials say that failure to adhere will result in impound of the boat as well as potential jail time and fines.

This will, according to officials, improve the morning walking and jogging experience for tourists and locals and improve the overall sea view of Pattaya.

Local residents have been asking for this for quite some time and if enforced the local community will be quite pleased.

We will provide further updates.

they have now got 6 platforms 3 either side of the access road out to the main bit of bali hai port where the ferries depart to koh larn and hua hin etc.

what they look like when they are finished

the parasail owners will not be happy. instead of having a great deal of the beach to play with they can now only load 6 at a time. they corral a boat group on the upper level while a boat is loaded from the floating bit and then repeat the process. plus it's a much longer trip there and back to reach the 10 parachute platforms in the bay

One more 'rule' that nobody will take any notice of after a couple of months.  I just don't know why they have laws and rules in LOS, nobody gives a monkeys and  they just continue doing what they have always done.

it was enforced for a while early 2017 but the regulations were relaxed so they could get the bali hai area ship shape for the Asean fleet review last november.

at that time there were only 4 floating docking points in service now there are 6. but the number of floating parachute flat tops in the pattaya bay has also risen from 9 to 10

I was on Beach Road at 5pm and i saw all the boat with chinese ppl jumping in water and moving to the beach

I thought there were more ppl than the 6 june 1944 in Normandie for the Debarquement !:D

No wonder they must go the the pier now

And its more safe it hink

It gets pretty crowded on the pier as it is at times now.

Might start a book on how long for someone to “fall” off and drown.

Great news if they stick to it. Won't miss all those coaches on Beach Road and the Chinese/Korean tourists trying to cross

saturday morning 08 00 and steady to heavy rain. enough to put at least a delay on the chinese peoples army marine division maneuvers in the skies over pattaya bay.

this is a rare event

Boats are still picking people up at the beach. It’s May 1st today

Was sitting by Beach Road a few weeks ago and watched a guy tending his boat which he had anchored to the shore.  Topped up his fuel from a two stroke container which he then just threw into the water.  FMD and they wonder about the shit on the beach!!!

12:00 Hrs Pattaya and when you look on Earthcam the tide is out and they are landing on the beach.   Queues of customers getting off the speedboats and walking up the beach.

https://www.earthcam.com/world/thailand/pattaya/?cam=pattaya

And all the speedboats have to be parked in the bay now?!

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

They are still at the beach $$$
