Fast Track at Don Muang

Featured Replies

Normally travel to Bangkok via Swampy & more times than not in Business (It's not expensive from Singapore & I travel from a Friday evening to Sunday evening so every minute counts)

This time I'm getting a late flight with ScootBiz into DMK & found out they don't have Fast Track access,  so I booked with BFS.  Turns out they only cover Swampy (Give them there dues, they were very quick to cancel my reservation and reverse the Credit Card charges so full marks to them for that if not for the fact that it wasn't obvious on their website) so looking for an alternative to get me through the airport as quickly as possible.

Does anybody know any other companies that provide Fast Track access at Don Muang? - A few that came up on Google no longer seem to trade & Expedia ilks seem to have no availability (on any day, ever) closest I came to it was a company called something like "BlackLane" who wanted $340!!! Each way (which is 3 times what my flight is costing me!)

Thanks

I avoid DMK like the plague. I like to use the VIP fast track at Swampy, which is excellent value,  and I even go so far as to pay extra for a flight to avoid DMK.  It's also the  wrong side of Bangkok for Patts, so altogther a bad choice.

Completely agree, but in my defense...

  • I've managed (had to) take the Friday off (May is end of Holiday year & there's no other day I can take off so "Use it or Lose it". So instead of the usual Friday Evening - Sunday Evening I thought I'd go on the Thursday instead.
  • I can't leave the office before 8PM so this was 1 of the very few flight I was reasonably confident of making
  • I'm staying at my mate's Condo in Bangkok & he's picking me up at the airport, as I'm due to land at 11:45PM I thought it would be easier for him from DMK.

In hindsight I should have booked a single to DMK & a return from Swampy, & still might sack the return flight off if I think the queues at DMK on a Sunday Afternoon are going to be too bad (Could always book a return from Thailand as I'm planning another trip back end of June for a mate's birthday)...

Thanks I chatted with them online last night & it seems that they provide the service if they have Staff working there at that particular time (i.e. a bit hit or miss)...

So I managed to move a few meetings about & booked another flight from Swampy on Monday morning (added bonus I can have a "Proper" Saturday night & recover with a big Sunday Lunch:))

Yeah, I've recently come to the realization that the extra 2 hours commute it adds is often not worth the cost savings it may offer. I'll be keeping that in mind for future bookings.

Like I said, I'm heading into the middle of Bangkok (Near Rama-9) for a short weekend so technically It is the right airport for me, but the thought of another DMK queue for > 1 hour has seen me binning off my return flight (Anybody need a ScootBiz ticket from DMK-SIN around 5PM on 20th May - Though it would probably cost more to change the ticket than it would be to book a new one)... to booking a single back from Swampy on the 21st instead.

The fact that I get an extra day & so can have a proper Saturday night out (+ Sunday Lunch at the Sportsman or somewhere to recover) might have had a teeny weeny bit to do with the call :P

Never seen Fast Track offered at DMK I don't think. Just crew channels.

DMK is great if it's quiet, I used to like early morning, like 6/7am flights to neighbouring countries. Could get from Suk Soi 22 to DMK in 20 minutes, no traffic, driving along the highway past all the dark unlit tower blocks in central Bangkok had a nice eerie feeling about it. No queues for immigration or security at that time.

If it's busy though then it's a hell hole. Friends visited me from KL last June I think it was and they landed DMK at 5:30pm, they didn't get to me on Soi 16 until 8:30pm.
