Looking for an update on Khon Kaen and specifically the mongering or nightlife scene, I am heading up there for six days next week to do some triathlon acclimatisation during the day and mongering / drinking in the evenings.

Does Rad bar still exist? How about the bar scene? More than open to barfining a few girls but hooking up with locals would obviously be the better choice. 

I'm early thirties so hopefully a few student places could also be an option, I really have no idea though, any help would be appreciated. If anyone is around would be good to meet for a drink. 

Behind central shopping centre few bars and few clubs not much to be honest. Kind of found prices inflated for food and girls. Accomodation great places and very cheap. Lots of new places short bike ride away from main areas.

I think I'll play it by ear, boots on ground approach looks the best option. 

I had contacted a few girls on TF but it's not really happening. Most are 'working' in Pattaya or Bangkok so you get left with slim pickings. Had a stunning 22 year old messaging for the last month but she's went quiet suddenly. 

Is the Coyote part of Rad Bar still around? I'm on a 5k-7k per day 'entertainment', budget so can afford to buy a few drinks and see what happens from there.

Haha, it's true, I'll be running twice a day. I'm a prolific monger with ten years under my belt so will be 'relaxing' in the evening as well.

Pullman hotel has a good micro-brewery.  I know there are beer bars nearby.

OK, just arrived, staying at the Pullman. Early doors but thinking that the street quality is good but the bar girls are brutal. Think Pattaya Bush 'Babes'. Meeting a girl from TF shortly but not expecting much. Live updates to follow.

Mybar, Eric's etc are dead quiet. 5pm here. 

8pm and I've sacked the TF girl. Hearing there is a basement bar in the Pullman with stunners. Got 2 free drinks vouchers so may as well use them and take a look. 

Had a pizza at the Italian place next to the Pullman, was fine. Staff were friendly. Also got a hair cut earlier, was 360 baht. I can get cheaper back home. And yes I speak decent Thai so it wasn't a stitch up, they had a price list which I missed. Won't be back tomorrow for the manicure I had in mind.

Had a TF girl travel 80km to blow me in the afternoon and then leave back to her town. She wanted to stay but had to jettison her. A student, 21, wouldn't take cash but put 1000 in her bag. Got to love this place. 

Had breakfast in Blues Bar and cab recommend it. Sausage and Coffee are 10/10

I’llbe up in KK later this year, but during  high season....hoping it livens up a bit during that time of year
