I have a friend visiting Phuket  in September and there after a taxi/transfer from aiport to hotel, What price should they pay on the ground or can they book a transfer before hand. They have been a few years ago and think that 1200B was what they paid?

There is a prominent taxi desk at Arrivals in the airport. Easy to get a taxi there.

My memory is that I paid 800 THB to go to Kata, so a bit less, 700, for Patong sounds about right.

Im certain it was just from the taxi rank outside the terminal. They tried taking the piss quoting something like 1200 but my mate had been a few times before and knew the going rate so bartered him down to 700!

I took the minivan from the airport to my hotel 180 THB per person.
