Will situation Syria influence air travel?

Featured Replies

Today the European Air Traffic Control warned airlines that the situation around Syria might get dangerous the upcoming days with threats of actions because of recent gas attacks.

Is anyone flying to or from Europe worried about this?

Will be fine.

If i was due to fly i wouldnt be concerned in the slightest!

On the TV news they said airlines have been warned to avoid the area. Most of them were doing so already, they'll just go around the trouble spots maybe small increases in flight times.

Next trip Aug 31-Sep13, theme: try more freelancers, get dirty! Note to self: TAKE MORE PHOTOS!!!

Precisely

I remember when they didnt fly over Baghdad a few years back - they just skirted around it.

Price of oil is going up, at least here in the States.  Any action in Syria will make a plane ticket more expensive.

Same for Afghanistan when it first kicked off. Yay! 500

All flights from Europe will have to fly directly to South Africa, turn left and head to Australia and then to Thailand...

That, or it will be fine.

I remember it too,1990 it was the first time i came Thailand, i was flying on Egypt air form Cairo to Bangkok,  people were telling me all sorts of knee-jerk reactionist nonesense about stray missiles etc!

I went and came home without the plane being shot at.
