encrypted email

I am looking for an app that will encrypt my email so that only my intended recipient can access it.

Currently using Win 10 .

Anyone have suggestions for proven apps?

Not an app per say, but I use ProtonMail. Check them out at protonmail.com

Thunderbird + Enigmail might be a more robust desktop GUI solution , or if you would like something web based maybe tuta.io or gmail+flowcrypt.

Gmail will standard encrypt your outgoing mail and warn which incoming wasn’t encrypted.

I have to use windows 10 pro (for work stuff) as it has that bitlocker encryption feature. Needs to be FIPS 140-2 standard, apparently.

Ipad has to have MobileIron installed.

Does it have to be running on Windows or can it be a phone app?  Does it have to be email, or can it be any kind of secure messaging system? What kind of person is the other party?
