Another tourist beat up on Walking Street, this time by two pirated CD vendors

Featured Replies

Pattaya-

Details are scarce but on the same night as the running battle with Ladyboys and a drunk tourist we reported on earlier another unidentified tourist last night, in the early hours of the 21st of March, 2018, got into an extended brawl with two men who appear to be Thai who were selling pirated CD’s near Living Doll Showcase Gogo on Walking Street.

The tourist managed to escape mostly unharmed but witnesses stated he was attacked because he drunkenly stumbled into the CD table knocking over the CD’s. When the Thai’s demanded an apology the witness stated the tourist refused and insulted them at which point they attacked him. The witness states if the tourist had apologized politely he would not have been attacked.

This is the second incident in the same day and social media has been asking what the authorities and police are doing to control these incidents on Walking Street, a dedicated Safety Zone. Police have not publically commented on the incidents at this time. Local residents on Thai websites also asked why these vendors are allowed in full view of the police to sell pirated CD’s on Walking street.

Additionally, some residents asked why anyone would purchase a CD in 2018.

(Editors Note: If you stumble into a table or cart, and we have seen this many times, because you are drunk simply apologize and walk away. Will avoid an issue.)

Wow, the amount of trouble a farang could avoid just by being a bit more polite, but instead they'd rather ruin their own evening and the evening of others. I know some of them do it because it is their version of saving face but it never seems to end up well for them. If he was from my country (USA) what an embarrassment. It pisses me off to no end when people who would apologize for such a thing in their home country don't in Thailand. They are just as human as us, even if they make as much money. And maybe a little more human if all they asked for was a simple apology.

Thanks Pattaya News for always keeping us up to date on what's going on!

all this stuff happens late on when evil mr lager etc is involved

How was your holiday?

Got blind barely walking drunk, destroyed a merchants property, told him what for too... oh, then I got beaten up ..... while in a foreign country outnumbered 68,000,000 to 1.

epic!

Quit clouding the issue with facts.

When I read the post title I was thinking there are so many CD sellers that someone is pirating them. And they sell real CDs.

A pirate CD seller, the eye patch gives them away.

Who buys DVDs anymore? So outdated.

The DVD guys were caught and fined 4k each i think. They apologised and all that. Bald farang is still on the loose

LOL!

Me thinks they probably made this part up.

IF the pirate CD vendors were not set up there - the incident wouldn't have happened.

I should think they had more of a right to be there than a tourist? Whether they were pirates or not is wholly irrelevant to the story.

If they were selling Vinyl, I'd be interested.  As in vintage or even re-issues.  Only music format I've bought in the last 10 years or so.  It just sounds better on my vintage audio gear.  Around here, if you have a vintage record collection of popular classic rock/pop/metal/punk in good shape, you have a gold mine.  Young kids buying vinyl like you wouldn't believe.  CD's, not so much, might as well get the digital downloads.

Drunken fights on Walking Street, I'm not surprised.  I try not to be drunk anywhere, 2 drinks is enough for me.  Bump into someone you say "Excuse me" or "I'm sorry" and you move on.

real men are out on WalkingStreet, etc - stoked on adrenaline, RedBull, steroids, pumped until the veins on their bulging guns sticking out of their wifeBeater shirts, are poppN out... walk with a swagger, bump into whatever/whoever/wherever - tell whoever to pissRightTheFuqueOff, ready for a rumble, ready to RAMPAGE... oh did I knock over your pirated DVDs, well go fuck yourself and your entire family while you are at it... I know, I know - you don't speak English, but I know you understand the universal term of endearment - FUCK YOU... works like a lucky charm bracelet EVERYTIME... good practice for fighting skills with multiple attackers (bearing weapons)...

Retired in Pattaya, Thailand - arrived April 1, 2014... Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh... LiveN my dream!
