At Sea Residence

Featured Replies

I am looking to book this hotel but I have some questions:

  • as I understand from reviews - they speak thai language only;
  • booking via agoda ... will they know that I paid? they do not speak any language except thai ...
  • they are not presented on booking.com ...

The rooms are very good (from agoda: 29 m²/312 ft²,  Balcony/terrace, In-room safe box, etc) ... for $43 per night (they are located in the entrance of the Walking Street in the end of Beach road, above Pattaya bear garden as a second floor).

I have sent an email to them with some question (in English) to their email (they are having website here: http://atsearesidence.com ) - no reply.
And they do not have Visa (I can not pay by Visa for example) - according to their website.

because the rooms are very very good with the price ... and the location is the perfect ...
but I am affraid ...

Does anyone have experience with them here?

please. anyone ...
so - no one from here lived there?
i really need some suggestion ...

Seems you'll be the guinea pig for this hotel, please report back on your experience. Agoda bookings in my experience are very dependable, so if I were you I would not have any concerns booking them through Agoda.

Because I am thinking about The Secrets (the first) and this hotel (- because those hotels are inside or almost inside the Walking Street, and because of the balkony and safe, and more).

So, my choice will be the one of those two hotels for the next trip.

If someone is having some other option so let me know.

I've never booked via agoda. I was using booking.com, or I was booking via the hotel's website.

Because I am a little affraid for agoda ... because agoda is having less price for the hotels compare with the booking.com etc. ...
And because there are some reports (from Russians) where they paid but the hotels in LK Metro did not accept their agoda payment (there are many complaints about it) so they should pay the second time.

That is why I am asking ....
otherwise - how can I know, right?

Well, I have never had an issue with Agoda, and hotels not accepting payments from Agoda is, until you mentioned it, unheard of in my experience...either in person or on the forums. You get a voucher from Agoda and you print it out..it's indisputable. The hotel would not be on Agoda if there were any concerns, Agoda cannot have customers paying them and being turned away from hotels...it's unheard of to my mind, I have no idea re these Russian experiences you mention. There are 516 customer reviews for the hotel on Agoda...most of them seem to rate it 8+ out of 10.

I was talking about some issue with the hotels located in LK Metro (Metropole) ... it was some review in russian language that some lady paid using agoda and she came - but they did not accept ...
But I was living in this hotel and I had no any problem (seems - very good hotel).

Because I want to separate the hotels ... after the road incident in Pattaya which I had ... and after that - in Russia - I had to go to the dantist to insert the implants instead of tooths; and those implants were very very expensive ... so I do not want to go to anywhere; I want to select several hotels to be near the places for example ...

Sorry for the explanation.

Thus, I decided to go to Gazebo Resort hotel first (this hotel is very near Telephone bar; and this hotel is having the price aroud 30 dollars; with balkony, big room; in-room safe; etc);

After that - I will go to the Walking street hotels. And there are few options there:

  • The Secrets;
  • At Sea residence; and
  • Grand Hotel 9th floor (because of the balkony and in-room safe for that expensive floor).

So, no much choice ...
Of course, there are Swiss zombie hotel to ne opposite Wildmill gogo (safe; good room; good size; veru secure; etc) but it si exact opposite this gogo ... and Babydolls is on the parallel street which is difficult to access being drunk ...

I ad thinking to be in The Secrets or in At Sea residence.

About At Sea Residence Hotel ...
Do you know Pattay bear garden?
So, just imagine that this beer garden is the ground floor, so this hotel is the first floor.

It means: everybody is drinking the beer while you are sleeping :)

-----------

So, no one been there?
because i sent emal to them ... and seems - they do not speak russian and english ... (i do not speak thai sorry) ...

Stayed there once. I'll highlight what I remember. There are much better places at this price point.

  • The Deluxe rooms have an amazing view since you're right on the sea.
  • Noise wasn't a problem at all.
  • They lost my deposit/couldn't find it/owner, manager was not in office i.e. there was no money at the time of my check-out to return to me, I had a taxi to BKK and a flight to catch. Lost 1k Deposit.
  • Guest friendly but an old lady brings you and your bf into the office and starts making the entry into the register, painfully slow and very awkward.
  • No parking, barely even space to drop-off, Hotel is on floor 2 above PBG, terrible traffic around that area in evenings.
  • Upside is very close to walking street.
  • Hate the showers.

I don’t have any information on the hotel but I did use Agoda when I was in Thailand in February. I stayed at the LK Empress in Pattaya and had no issues. In fact I wanted to book an extra night and when I went to the front desk to book they advised just to book with Agoda online again as it is easier. I did without any problems.

I will use Agoda for my next trip as well. Good prices and reliable website.

Old thread, but I was considering the At Sea Residence because it's close to WS.  I've concluded that there isn't anything that great on or near WS.  Stayed at the Grand Hotel, won't stay again.  Really run down, would be a 1 star if it was back home.  Secrets was right across the street, also looked run down from the exterior.  Now that I see a review of the At Sea, I know I don't want to stay there.

Only decent reviews I was looking at steps from WS was the W14 Hotel,  a few steps away from where I stayed.  8.6/10 on Agoda, it's already booked for my stay in June.

It appears I'll stay somewhere else, staying on WS was great, just took the GoGo girls by the arm and after a minute walk was right to my hotel.  Grand Hotel is a dump though.

There are two hotels which I found satisfactory close to Walking Street.

Siam Bayshore - Direct access to Walking Street from the lobby, still manages to be quiet and peaceful. Great facilities and grounds, pool. Recently, there was an increase in package tourists, I would be avoiding. Very, very guest friendly, two joiners in room.

Balihai Bay Hotel - Newish hotel, awesome view of the ocean. Also attracts package tourists but I haven't bumped . Guest friendly, and you can avoid the reception until 11pm or so. Starts at half the price, and $100 gets you the Premium ocean view. 1 minute walk from WS.

What is a 'package tourist'?

I've seen those hotels on Agoda, didn't realize they were so close to WS.  Looks like it's on the Indian end of the street?

Tourists who visit on low cost tours, generally noisy and swarm the pool, breakfast.  The ones I mentioned are on the Pier/Indian end.

I've been in this hotel on all of my trips to Thailand.
Hotel is nice, cheap, rooms are ok but there is one huge drawback. End of 2015 they started to build this little pier which is now next to Beer Garden. Right now every time you open your curtains or go out on your balcony to have a coffee in the morning or a drink with a girl in the night, you always face a bunch of Indians eating ramen and staring at you. They literally spend the entire evening and night just hanging/laying there for no reason and Its extremely annoying for the hotel's guests.

Other annoying thing is that walls are paper thin and you can hear every fucking or conversation of your neibhours, as well as they can listen to you too.

Besides that for the price its an ok hotel but to be honest for this trip I'm looking to find another place to stay.

Any recommendations for something guest friendly and with a nice sea view are welcome.
