Anybody been to Da Nang?

Hi guys,

I've never been to Vietnam but a buddy of mine said he might end up working in Da nang for a while....

Just wondering if any of you has been there and any general comments on the mongering scene there

I'm not really after specific info at the moment, if I go there I will figure it out then, but yeah, just wondering if any of you have been there, if there are opportunities to have some fun P4P, or any other general comment/impression about living/traveling there.

Bound to be. If he is working there he will find it even easier, Basically the other expats will know and it might even be easy to pick up the local non P4P girls. My mates in the mining industries around Indonesia tell me the girls prefer someone they can pretty much rely on to look after them once a week or so. My brother when working in Borneo took his then 20 year son over for a holiday and he ended banging one of the office girls for a week because she wanted to find out what the 4 star hotel was like and was happy eating and drinking  at a cafe/bar etc every night rather than go home and sleep with her whole family in one room. Apparently the nephew got more than one offer from the girls in the office.

Yeah I've been there, its a nice city.  Good nightlife, not good mongering.  You would be better off finding a few local girlfriends.

The place is rapidly developing, last 5 years and its unrecognizable.

i do not know what the mongering scene is like in Da Nang, since i went with my gf and we didn't actually stay in Da Nang. but if you do happen to find a nice lady you want to travel around with, take a trip to Bana Hills. they built a small French Village, floral garden, amusement park/arcade (small) and an asian inspired sanctuary with pagoda, tea house, buddha statue and more...all on top of a mountain that can only be accessed from a gondola/cable car. the view on the way up is pretty nice too.

i recommend staying at the hotel (a Mercure propertry) at least one night, two would probably be better, so you can experience the area after all the tour groups leave. then you'll have the whole place practically to yourself. but it is very quiet at night. so don't expect to stay out all night partying.

google Bana Hills to see photos...i thought it was pretty cool.

The stretch from Da Nang to Hoi An is nothing but construction. It has to be the largest beach construction project in the world if you combined them all.

Looks nice, can't believe I missed that.  Next time!

...And there WILL be a next time because I loved the seafood and fried lemon grass frog in Da Nang!  First time trying it, totally unbelievable!

Just book my trip for two weeks in Vietnam and will visit Da Nang again, as well as Hue and Hoi An. Hopefully, I shall provide a better and more detailed trip report. My stay was so short that I didn't get to dig in and find all the cuties but will make the effort for the team.

I love Vietnam, the food, the culture, and the women. I will also be looking at a new huge resort that someone mentioned will be one of the largest resort construction projects in not just Vietnam, but in all of SE Asia. Seven hotels with 7000 rooms (combined), a casino, mountain top central club house, and 500 ocean facing villas. The real construction hasn't started, but I want to see the area and am looking at pricing on one of the villas. You can dream can't ya? Will report back. Cheers!!
