Owner is a nice guy and the business is very successful but as as been pointed out they are restorers not a sales room and 99% of customers are Thais although i know he welcomes non Thai enquiries.

you cant go very fast here so why get a soso looking car with a fast engine.  Better to get a nice engine, since you cant go fast anyway that looks really cool. just my opinion

I remember Steve McQueen put a Porsche engine in a vw bug.  cool at the time, but if your gonna get a classic get the prettiest one you can afford. That ford is not very pretty cept when the hood is open

Apart from anything else, can you imagine what that not pretty Escort would sound like going through the Sukhumvit tunnel.....

Had a MGB-GT in the late 70's . complete engine re-build,  Sunset Red with perfect body work, wire wheels, Black interior.

Took it to Bournemouth one weekend and some cnut nicked it...never saw it again.....

What are you driving now ?

Seriously ? I cruise at 130 km/h on the 7 and get passed like I am standing still .  Going fast is not a problem in Thailand . Not getting crushed by one of these speedsters is the problem 555 .

Don't know how much experience the OP has with car restoration but a couple of good general rules are buy the best condition you can afford and avoid rust as much as possible. Good luck.

His is an interesting business .. apparently serving local customers.

But, I can easily see this as a higher value-added service with export potential .. Thailand has some excellent crafts skills, and this is highly specialized stuff .. bordering artistic, even.

I wonder how difficult the regulations would be to import junkers for restoration here, and then exporting the finished product back out.

on the 7, give me a break, you do that daily?  how fast on second road? beach road? third road? dark side?

I can do 250 on the 7, once a month         in town you cannot go fast anywhere

I rolled a MK1 going from Port Macquarie to Kempsey one night after work.

it was my friends car and I went into a corner a little deep,gravel of course.

She ended up wheels down but the roof was about like this.(pic),

big crick in the neck driving it back home,and then a proper sledge hammering to get another windshield in it.

Roll of duct later and she’s good to go.

Edit.I call bullshit on the 350HP on this unit as well.

Just a feeling I have.lol.

To be honest on the 7 there are more and more cameras had my latest flash last Friday at 130km/h it used to be a steady 150/160 no problem but not anymore the boys in blue have found their new cash cow.
