RIP Grottino Bangkok

In the past, when in Bangkok, I used to stay at the Swiss hotel and restaurant Grottino in a small sub-soi off Sukhumvit Road Soi 19 aka Soi Wattana, not too far from Soi Cowboy and from Nana Plaza.

At the location of the restaurant is now a tex-mex joint.

Where the night entrance used to be is now the reception of iCheck inn.

The boy at the reception desk told me the rooms upstairs are still the “same”, but that they don’t serve breakfast any longer, which I find a big minus point for 2,000+ baht rooms.

I’m not going back in a hurry, but I do have sweet memories of that place.
