Maytara Hotel

Noticed no topic on this hotel

From what I gathered from the search function it appears what people complain most about this hotel is the shitty wifi.

For those that stay in Pattaya for more than 2 weeks just getting a Thai SIM card for 500 baht will net you unlimited data and negates the need for wifi as most of the hotels in Pattaya have shitty wifi.

---------------

Aside from this it appears to be guest friendly (Unless you bring back 2 girls in which case they'll charge you an extra 500 baht for the second girl).

Nice rooms, beds, pool access, cheap price.

I haven't personally stayed there but I'm considering it for my next trip as location can't be beat.

May I ask which sim card gives you unlimited wifi for 500 baht?  I am coming for a month and I am interested.  I would gladly use my phone as a wifi hotspot.

Go to any of the cell phone counters in the airport after you exit customs.  ~500 baht will get you all you need.

ok thank you.  I just want to make sure I get 4g speeds for unlimited, otherwise it will be poor internet speeds just like many hotels.

I have stayed at Maytara several times.

It is a nice place except the wifi does stink like you said.

Don't really understand why since it is a new place.

The Thai data plans are what I use as well and than you don't really care if the hotel wifi works or not.

They have different packages with different speeds for the number of days you buy it for.

If you check out the details of the plan they aren't unlimited data at the fast speeds at least not for 500 baht, you do revert back to a slower speed if you use up all your data

The packages change all the time just pick one that you think will work for you based on how long you will be there

If you will be there for a month you will want a plan for sure

Which company kinda depends if you are going to stay in Pattaya the whole time or venture out and about.

I never stay in just one place so AIS works best for me

pricing will be similar so pick the one that will provide the best overall coverage for where you will be at

Maytara is a great place, location is awesome, beds and showers are also awesome.

Wi fi can be good depending on the room you get, I was talking to my friend this morning through messenger using Maytara wi fi and no problems at all. I'll be back there in November

Stayed here in pool access room a couple of years ago. Brilliant location and reasonably cheap too - from memory this room was about 1400 a night I think.

Room was quite basically kitted out but had everything you need and solid furniture etc..restaurant out front too.

Good location, friendly staff, in house massage parlor and absolutely lousy wifi which didn't work anywhere apart from the massage shop ( which presumably had a separate connection )
