When you guys say the Hilton, that's the Hilton Pattaya? The new one at Central Mall?

Technically ALL the 5 stars are guest friendly - the bottom line is no 5 star manager is going to piss off a customer at the rates they charge.

The the we know for sure to be so are Hilton, Marriot (now Avani I think) and Baraquda.

Do be aware thyat if you email them with the question you will often get "company responses" saying they are not - in reality they are.

To be 100% on the safe side - make sure when you book you book double occupancy. That is NOT the same as booking a double room. If you use an online booker such as Agoda or booking.com they book 2 as default. In the 5 stars it will not matter so much it just makes sense to do so.

One thing i would be careful of (pertinent to your question) is that a lot of the hotels mentioned here are probably not really 4 stars. Not in the sense of what you might be used to at home.

Avani is not GF anymore.

Shame about Avani, but I have bailed on it since it lost its Marriott affiliation (no more free room nights with points)

I would add the InterContinental to those listed above - 5 star resort style property. Not everybody's cup of tea, as it's in Phra Tamnnk (so a bit isolated) and pretty damn expensive, but it's one of my favorite hotels in Pattaya.

Thank you guys for chiming in.

I can confirm that the Avani is girl friendly. I had two mates stay there over the Summer and they never had any problem bringing a girl back (just took ID as normal etc and then rang up to room once left). Think the main thing is to book a double room, not a single.

Hope this helps

I also stayed at Avani last Summer and in the middle of my stay they told me they changed their policy to no more GF. Thankfully I was grandfathered in for the rest of my stay. But I will no longer be staying there. I’m going to miss the pool though. Trying the Holiday Inn this time. A little out of the way but I’m pretty sure they are GF.

I have stayed twice at Areca with TG GF. Endorse comments above.

They have two grades of rooms; we were in the better Evergreen wing; costs more but worth it.

Breakfast is good.

No visitor fee to bring in one girl; hotel holds her ID card and checks you are ok before giving it back. Good security for you. Several guests have TG's with them at the good breakfast.

Yes, there is a fee to bring in a second girl.

Within a few minutes stroll lots of bars, restaurants etc etc.

Has small fitness room with exercise bike, rowing machine and some weights. Not extensive for serious workout but was OK for me for 30 minutes a day.

Not so sure which month you have stayed there. Here is one of the threads regarding Avani changing their policy ( a few more in this forum). Officially, no more GF:

LK Empress is def not a 5 star!! just a nice-looking 3 star made in gold paint to lure chinese visitors. Location is excellent though, and very much guest friendly.

OP was asking for 4/5 star GF hotels in Pattaya. LK Empress is a 4 star hotel accoding to numbers of different hotel booking website. Agree with you the hotel just use some cheap furniture from China and painted them in gold

Intercontinental is not GF. Unfortunately. You might be lucky to smuggle your lady inside when walking around the reception and she is dressed not too extreme but they dont want to have any bargirls or whatever inside. This is a Family resort with guests paying up to 20.000THB per Night for the better Roms.

To European standard it would have 3 stars in the very best case. Nice hotel for Pattaya but international standards are not PATTAYA standards.

You may be right. Numbers of standards to rate hotels:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotel_rating

But OP put Thailand/Pattaya as his country/location. BM Greyvlegz is from India. So, I am still correct! :P

As has also been pointed out many times the "official company policy" emails and "reality" are very different. As an International chain hotel they have standard policies but the managers understand Pattaya. When it was Marriot there were also many threads quoting their email responses but again reality was different.

I did point this out earlier also.

Almost all the booking sites, including Agoda, use their own "rating" system. They dont actually claim it is the official rating but yes, they all do it to (deliberately??) confuse people. LK Empress is certainly not a 4 star, by International standards.

So, could you point me to the correct website or the LK group website stated that is a 3 star hotels so I would not make the same mistake again? Don't get me wrong, I really hate that hotel. Stayed in their beachfront room once. Just some cheap furniture painted in gold color. the noice from beach road woke me up everyday at 8! No plan to go back!

I have stayed in Marriott numbers of time. Never e-mail to asked for their GF policy because it was a well known GF hotel at that time.

I guess you didn't read the whole thread. At the end, a BM actually talked to the manager. The manager understand Pattay, "he understood but hands were tied". It is their new policy now.
