Gasoline vs Diesel

I only drive short distance on daily basis (condo - supermarket)

I plan to visit the country every 2 weeks so I plan to buy an SUV.

Most of them have diesel engine but this kind of engine have EGR valve problem for short distance drive so i will decide for gasoline engine.

What are pro and cons that I neglect on both engine ?

If low mileage/trip distance then stick with gasoline.

Low mileage Petrol everyday, high mileage diesel's have the advantage.

In case of resale, an gasoline SUV can be problem ?
