Katesiree House

Hi

Anyone here ever stayed at Katesiree House in Soi Buakhao (close to LK Metro) and have some opinions on this hotel?
The price is very low (around 400 bht pr night), so I don't expect luxury, but is it worth it? Apparently, a friend of my GF works there, so she asked me to check it out for the next trip...it looked ok on the pictures, but it could still be garbage, like a couple of other hotels I've been to :)

Will absolutley consider it...I mean, 6000 baht for 2 weeks...hard to beat that ...maybe thats why my gf suggested it, so I can afford to buy gifts for her :D

My mate stayed there last month,

There are 2 Katesiree house hotels, one opposite soi chiayapoon and one further down near 18 coins,

The rooms are small and cheap, but clean. Nothing special. My mate said the bed was not comfortable after a few days

but for the money, its very very good

do a search there's been a couple of good threads on this. years since i stayed there but:

pros:

  • price
  • location (close to bars, gogos, food places)
  • my room was average size but always clean and decent mattress
  • downstairs bar (used to have beer lao) with sport  showing and can get busy.
  • internet desks in bar area
  • felt safe

Downsides

  • None really for me but...
  • steep stairs might challenge some especially coming down (have they fixed that loose step?)
  • the other thread mentions aggressive server but she wasn't there my time

Be aware that there's at least one room not so good. But it had the hottest most powerful shower i have ever encountered in Thailand. I was only staying one night that time ehich is probably why i got it. I couldn't have styed in that any length of time. The other room I stayed in (first floor) was fine. I#d stay there again.

Katesiree House has a walk of shame through the bar to the door that leads upstairs. Bar is open 24hrs but these days once the football has finished the place empties so noise from there won't be a concern. Traffic noise on Soi Buk is 24/7 though.

Katesiree Residence further up the street near the hospital is slightly more expensive on Agoda but the bar isn't 24hrs and the cheaper rooms have no windows but are actually nice with big modern showers.
