Guest friendly hotel in Jomtien advice ?

I've been to Pattaya many times but never stayed in Jomtien.

I was thinking about booking a few nights in Jomtien for when I first arrive for some R+R before moving up to Pattaya to start the real party!

Advice please, reasonable hotel (possibly around Rhompo) for around 1000 Thb a night?

A pool would be handy but not a deal breaker at all as its only for a few nights.

Any suggestions please?

Pretty much all the hotels in Jomtien cater for package tourists and families. They also tend to be on the expensive side.

There are a number of guesthouses on the low numbered sois that may suit but I can't recommend one in particular.

I always stay in a condo in Jomtien now. You may want to consider it. Maybe something in VT2A from http://www.dancewatchers.com/

You should find something close to your budget.
