One of my new favourite places to eat thai food is Chill Inn restaurant in soi buakhao, next to american sandwich company, opposite Jollys.

Nice little restaurant, thai dishes around 100b, cheap western food also but haven't tried it.

I tried their Chicken with cashew nuts, Pad krapow and yellow curry and they all tasted great.

Are you talking about this place?

To be complete about this place

is not realy the best value for money of the ciity

and you are just beside the alcazar parking very busy every night with all the fuckin chines tours buses

and the drivers do not stop their engines (If they do, no more aircon in the bus)

so you have to deal with the delicious gasoil perfume (And of course the motors noise)

enjoy.....

I eat at the corner of third road and chayapoun regularly. And bring many friends there. Very good service by a group of Myanmar gals who have been there for years. Food is out in minutes and is quite good. It is usually quite busy with a good mix of falang and Thais.

my go to there is panang talay, cow pad talay or guy,  and hoi lai pad prik pow.

reasonable prices. And a huge menu.

i confirm it is one of the best value for money in the area

unfortunely they are open only at evening,

and for the morning/afternoon you have a good Thai style hole in the wall

just in front of the Pump station bar, on the other side of the street (Soi post office 13/2) dishes 50 to 100 bahts (menu is also in english with some photos), free  water from the tank (Or fresh mineral bottle at 10 bahts) always busy with a lot of Thai and some farangs but you can have a place if you are lucky and/or patient, and it's closed at night.

do you know how late they generally stay open? I arrive tomorrow at midnight and would like to try it, as my hotel is nearby.

Unfortunely they are closed during Songkran madness

so they open again in some days....

Pad Thai

I am far from expert on this meal but I know what I like. My previous best was back home in Perth. But that is now all changed. And thankfully only 5 minutes from where I live!

I have had it on three separate occasions and it is top-notch every time. With the only exception being if you order the prawn there are only three (I prefer chicken personally). But at 50b im sure you could negotiate something! I have also made two meals out of this it is really a substantial amount of food!

The above is a link to the address just plug it into a Google search. But just up the road from The Lion Pub, or down the road from the Punch and Judy, on the bend opposite the family mart.

Pork Noodle Soup - the best in Pattaya
13/2 Soi Post Office from 2nd road third the way down on the left. There most days. 40 baht. Its best when he puts everything in including pig blood (Num tok). Add extra shoots and basil. Like all noodle places they leave things out if faranga077889188f27f62676d832ba44d8251.jpg

Edit: I probably get curries to go from them on average once a week. I don't get rice as it's wasted calories to me. I

Hey, thanks for your post. I'm a bit late to this thread but I'm going to give them a try next week and probably will follow your recommendations. If you have any recommendations for a good Larb Moo im all ears (or I guess eyes). I did note that you mentioned one in your post but I'm looking for something outstanding. I cannot find anything as good as my mates wife makes. Sadly she is in Australia!

I'm also interested in your comments regarding wasted calories, is that because of the relatively neutral nutritional value?

I feel a bit stupid but I have never thought about just having two meals instead of rice apart from ordering a Pak Pak Rue Mit as a supporting dish.

Thanks again.

I just love the curries. Rice is ok, but I'd rather eat more curry. In addition, white rice I think of as highly processed food.

I am currently staying with a friend at east Pattaya. Its far out from central.Kiss food and drinks are very good quality at that location, and is recommended.Prices as low as 60 baht.Portions are small,so if you are very hungry, order to portions right away! Food will be at your table in under 10min.

Buakhow market food court next to Tony's gym on Soi Buakhao. Can't be beaten for cheap authentic Thai dishes. Dishes all range from 40-90 baht and they're fucking lovely. I used to eat here up to 3 times a day, not because I was trying to save money but because it was actually brilliant food. I'd pay double the price, no bother. They also have a fried chicken stand just outside the seating area too that could easily rival KFC chicken. 15 baht a piece if I remember correctly.

The food complex on central road close to August Suites is also good but most of their food seems to be aimed at seafood eaters and I don't really like it. Had a good chicken red curry from there once though.

Any similar food markets around Naklua area? With many options like SOI Buakhao market.

I had a noodle soup at the market, in soi Buakhao today, around 10am.It was great, but I was still a bit hungry.Went across the street, just 20m.A guy stood there frying potatoes, rice-balls? and banana-chips with peanuts.I went for the banana-chips.Got 7,for 20baht.They tasted awesome! Got another 7,just 5min later.LOL.Maybe more of a snack, than food, but really good taste, and great value for money.Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed on the market on Klang. The fish is really good on the first stall when you walk in on the left side.

Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Even the Google Maps location is a slightly vague.

Probably better with a Street View shot.

If you know where Dominos Pizza is on the corner, it is just 3 doors down from there.
