Whisper Hotel

Really like the look of this place that opened earlier this month in what seems to be an area of Pattaya undergoing some regeneration...

Soft opening rate seems to be about 1,200 a night...seems worth it given location and all the facilities...plus big rooms for a new build.

Many thanks for the heads up on "The Whisper Inn" and just did a dummy booking on "Booking.com" for a booking in August 2017 for 12 days £292 12,848 Baht or 1,070 Baht per day.

In a great location also just behind the Avenue which is another added bonus.

Thanks for sharing PR1977:Bravo1:

Cheers I've changed the soft opening rate in the first post..I was looking at next March when it is 1800 a night which still seems great value. Actually just booked it for 17 nights in March for 30,600 as its a no payment required now job at present :)

Just booked today as it's my preferred area. Got it for 10 nights in September for 10,620 baht
Had a booking for about 12,900 baht @ Nova Gold but everyone said it was a little out of the way and the added costs of taxi bike.
Here I can cut thought The Avenue and jump on of off the baht bus.
Can't wait for the off only 5/6 weeks now.

buakaow is pretty close the other way, in fact less distance than the avenue but the road surface to get there is unmade in parts and can be a bugger if it's been raining

you can rest easy here in the knowledge that health and safety during the build process was number 1 priority...........

It is behind The Avenue Condo on the soi between The Avenue and The Urban. That soi is concreted from Soi 15 to the hotel. Beyond the hotel it is a dirt road to soi Buakeow which does get messy when it rains. About 3 min walk to soi Buakeow and double that to 2nd road.

Most of the building work that looks to be going on around there has been suspended for ages so noise wouldn't be a problem at the moment. You'd get more noise from the KOK on soi Buakeow when they fire that up.

whisper and to the right of shot you can just see the building in the first 2 pics.

they are back working on the site but the noise would not be huge, the noisy stuff is when they are doing foundations

On the map in  booking.comit says it's beside centara azure

to get here from the avenue you need to turn left onto Soi 15 and follow the bend in the rd

to get to whisper you would need to exit the avenue and turn right onto Soi 15 walk along couple of hundred metres going past the mercure hotel on your left side and turn left into the first available soi. it is a concrete road up to whisper from Soi 15. after whisper it becomes an unmade rd up to buakaow

below whisper taken late december..............

597c6792da7ab_dec24016(Custom).JPG.456bed3dbad49e52f7714185c46fae07.JPG

above you can just see the concrete access rd with Soi 15 in the distance. a left turn would take you via a bend to the right to second rd. a right turn would take you along Soi 15 towards the avenue

the middle section is a bit iffy after rain, but it means there is not much traffic

hope that sorts out the location, which is always a challenge when the little road something is on does not have it's own name

The easiest way to explain how to get there is this. If you are in Soi15 facing Pattaya Bay Resort, go towards the Mercure hotel. Once you pass the Mercure hotel, turn left into the Soi and it will be on the left.

  • 1 month later...

I'm just back from 12 nights at the Whisper booked through Bookings.com it averaged out about 1,090 Baht a night.  As a new hotel it was spotless throughout.

Arrival and check in was ok but they did not have the double room I had booked free and put me in a twin room.   They offered to move me the next night but I did not bother.  As one visitor said "one bed for sleeping one bed for f***ing".

hotel was guest friendly although no consistent policy on taking guest ID (sometimes did, sometimes didn't).

The room was bigger than my previous Pattaya hotel rooms (24/7 and Travelodge) with good sized bathroom with large shower (no bath) and good air conditioning. TV had a lot of international channels.   The balcony was comfortable for 2 but no more.

I am not a pool person but the pool on the rooftop appeared small to me with only 6 or so sunbeds available with no bar facilities.  I imagine if the hotel was full this would be very crowded.

I had a room at the back looking out over the Mercure and the building works shown in a photo above.  I was not disturbed by any building works in the locality at any point.

Housekeeping was good with a thorough clean and towel bed linen refresh everyday.   Staff typically attentive and helpful although limited English.

The wifi in my room (5th floor) was patchy but was stronger in the ground floor public areas and so might be better on the lower floors.    As with many hotels in Pattaya there were some computer terminals in reception.

I did not eat in the bar or cafe and so cannot comment.

The hotel was not full with the majority of the guests appearing to be east European and a tour guide was resident in the pubic area on some days.

The location is as described above and it is an easy short walk to Avenue Shopping Centre.   For those that do not want to walk to baht bus routes motor taxis are usually available at the end of the soi on Soi 15.  Many small bars and eating places nearby if you do not want to go further afield at any point in time.   7/11s nearby with a larger supermarket in the Avenue Shopping Centre (that I do not remember from previous visits to the area).

At that price I would go back.

I enjoyed my stay there as well, especially liked the design of the large bathroom, but on Booking.com they will be charging 1800Bt/night soon, so may stay with my usual digs.

Bawdy by name, Bawdy by nature.
