I seriously want to get fit but I absolute hate Excrise. I do not want to go to the gym or take up swimming I find excrise like that absolutely boring. So I think I need a sport something competitive as luck would have it I've been given a squash racket. So I thought why not give that a try. I found this website

https://www.pattayaunlimited.com/squash-courts/

However I think all the information is out of date.

Fairtex don't have squash anymore

The Royal ambassador in Jomtien sounds great but I think it's a pain in the ass for me to get there. I would consider it but my friend who wants to play with me says it's to far for her. But to tell The truth I think she won't even play. So dose anyone play there. Can we (if I can talk her into going) or just me turn up and play . Is that Facebook group still active?

If she don't want to play is there anyway a beginner can get a game. And do they Supply rackets?

I tried ringing a few other numbers on that website but they are not picking up or they don't speak English.

So is there anywhere else?

I am determined to get fit if Squash is a no go what other sports could I take up in pattaya?

I used to play league squash, how good exercise it is depends on your opponents and if they are at your level. Plus it isn't great for knees or the heart apparently.

Try cycling, much better for you, its not boring outside, very boring in a gym. Cycle hard and you get a great endorphin feeling after. Groups around that do it. I bought a Winn 7000 baht hybrid perfectly good for getting into cycling. Just get the right size.

I like cycling I even hired a mountain bike once and went to that of road park at the Reservoir . I can highly recommend it but it's 7km before I've even got there lol. And tell the truth I don't drive here or in my home country so have very little road safety. So I decided that cycling on these roads in Pattaya probably isn't a good hobby for me.

I have a excrise bike but I find it boring and just use it for a towel rack. I know I should use it but I lack motivation and this is why I want a sport to take up. I think I would enjoy squash.

I dont play myself. Badminton courts are more common (both indoor and outdoor). My last landlord played a lot and he used to just rock up and get a competitive game with thais. At the courts.

From memory it was 150 a hour to hire the court and there is racquet hire at these places.

Ask a silly question and i'll leave a silly answer

Would have been easier if you googled it yourself.

THE THING ABOUT COMMON SENSE IS THAT IT'S THAT NOT COMMON

There are a group who meet for a "club night" on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from officially 5-7 although some people get there a little earlier. Cost 80 baht to the desk out front and generally a friendly bunch. Nothing clubby about it at all except you get to play for a cheaper price. Normally plenty of court availability.

One of the best players there is teaching his girlfriend to play. May be worth going along on a Saturday (tends to be more people there) and finding out if anyone wants to help a beginner......

Sorry - this is at The Ambassador

If your not used to racquet sports badminton might be a little easier to pick up.

If you do go for squash, don't get hit by the ball.

It f***ing hurts!!!
