Wanting to buy a s7

Hi, can someone on the ground in Pattaya, tell me the price of a brand new samsung galaxy s7? Not edge, just standard s7.  Maybe from tukcom?

I can buy one in the u.s. on amazon for about 17,000 baht, and was just wondering if that was a good deal or not?

Tuk Com can be tricky at times..Often a few sellers are selling Copys at a Good Price but claim there the real deal...Better stick to the Large Stores Tesco Lotus--Big C or use a solid outlet like Amazon

I'd agree. The S7 is still a current(ish) phone. Tesco, Big C, PowerBuy, even the True shops, or AIS, or DTAC shops would be good places to be certain you were actually getting a genuine Samsung. 

I just bought my wife a Samsung A7 (2017) (which is very similar in appearance to the S7, but the specs aren't quite as high) at the AIS shop for a pretty good discount. I'd imagine once the S8 gets into the retail channel, that the S7 will see heavier discounts.

I was just browsing the mobile shops in Central Festival also looking for an S7, but all they had was the Edge version. Anyone know if Gear VR is worth it?

Thanks for all the responses. I didn't even know that they counterfeit phones. I guess my best bet is to buy one in the u.s.

I have a gear VR, and maybe I'm too old for that stuff, but after 5 minutes it's too overwhelming and I have to take it off. My brother who's a few years older than me and a big 3-d fan, made it about 3 minutes before quitting. So, I would definitely try it before you buy it.

but many guys  buy the older model becasue of price, not everyone has your budget.  If I had your money I would throw mine away

My limited experience gives me the impression that nearly all internationally known high-end electronic devices are more expensive in Thailand than the US.  If it is cheaper, it is probably not legit for some reason.  Is this too sweeping a generalization?  As an aside, I want to buy a Huawei/Google Nexus 6P and I've never seen one in Pattaya yet.

the ones in Thailand are unlocked.   In the Us most are locked and cannot have your sim changed to the country you are in

I got my US-purchased phone unlocked for free with my carrier's blessing.  Unlocking a phone isn't a big deal is it?  I don't see this as a barrier.

Yeah, on eBay too. But I want to see an S8 and S8+ before I spend that much money. Mail order does not let me compare size before I buy.

my sister let them lock her unlocked phone.  when she wanted to come here they want to charge her 300 dollars to unlock it
