8th the largest hotel in the world.

According to that site, it isn't even close - Ambassador has 4 times the number of rooms than the next highest.  Same with Bangkok, where the largest (according to the same website) is the Marriott Marquis, which re-opened after extensive renovations last December at 1,360 rooms.

FWIW, I stayed at the Ambassador Jomtien for a convention about 12-13 years ago.  It was pretty crappy then, and I can't imagine it has gotten better in the last decade.

In City center Holiday Inn with 597 rooms on 2 buldings is the largest, Had rock with 323 rooms second, Imperial with 300 rooms third.

On Naklua Zign with  Centara Mirage with 959 rooms in total, if add the 107 villas rooms, Centara Mirage with 555 rooms second and Dusit Thani 457 rooms, third

Amar, in city center wil offer more than 300 rooms with the renovations of Amari garden with 59 one, two bedroom suites in 2018, closed since this month.
