Dentists on South Pattaya Road

There are more dental offices on South Pattaya Road than you can shake a tooth brush at.  But has anyone tried at least one of them?  I need some work done and am staying in the vacinity.   Would like to hear from others - the bad, good or ugly.

I have no personal experience with all those dentists you see on South Pattaya Rd, but I've walked by them every day for over 10 years.

You'll notice some have a lot of people in the waiting areas and some never seem to have anybody. That might be a clue.

I used a couple of them. Some of them work together because I went into one office for a problem and I needed a root canal. I made the appointment but on arrival they escorted me to a different office a few doors down.

I had a root canal and crown done about a year ago and am happy with it. I think it was about 12k baht but I'm not real sure. It was a set price so easy to check in advance with no surprises.

I don't remember the name but the one I had the root canal at was directly across from the bank that is just past TukCom if you're heading towards Sukhumvit

Dental Smile - technically on Pattaya 3rd road, but only about 10 metres north from the intersection with South Pattaya road (west side of street). Have been most happy with any restoration work or general check-ups (cleaning/scaling), that i've had every trip for the last couple of years (3-4 times annually). Are always prompt for appointment bookings & on time, most efficient & competively priced...never upsell also on any procedures, unless out of total necessity & urgency (ask for Dr. Jureeporn).

I think I'll take your advice.  I know where this place is.  In fact, it is right around the corner from the hotel (Diamond City Place) I've been staying at for the last few years.  It's important to know that they don't try to up-sell you on anything, as I suspect my dentist was always doing.  Nothing is worse for the teeth than drilling, so I like to keep as much natural tooth and enamel in my mouth as possible.

Btw, had an emergency extraction of a molar last week and it cost me $440 for less than 5 minutes of work.  I couldn't wait until February when I return to Pattaya next, where I know it would have been about 1/10 the price.  I helped to make my dentist a lot of money.  I hope those days are over, if I can help it.  That's why I cancelled my appointment with him to even get my teeth cleaned.

Cheers.
