I did have a look in the search function for some intel on this place, but the latest information is from 2014

 

Has anyone stayed here lately and can advise on

 

• Any joiner fee for your companion
• Their Breakfast
• Soundproofing

Here's a recent joiner email from Sunshine Vista ...

 

And I don't think it's 100 THB, it may be 1,000 THB.  In my database, I call it "Conditional" as opposed to "Yes" or "No" because of this possible discrepancy.  If it's a 100 THB, pay it, whatever.  If it's 1,000 THB, different story for most people.

 

 

I have stayed there almost exclusively for over 10 years

 

2 to 6 trips a year

 

I have left a bag there with supplies clothes toiletries stereo for 10 years

 

I've never paid a joiner fee

 

But of course I'm a handsome lad

The very next reply says no joiner fee

Had a mate who stayed there a few years back

 

He says that 100 baht was the fee if you hadn't booked a double

Had been awhile since I read the email - whoops on me.

 

And it doesn't say no joiner fee ... 

 

It says, in the December 2 clarifying email:

 

Primary Guest, checking-in alone, brings back 1 visitor for an evening and overnight - Baht 100.  So, cheap, but still a fee.

Primary Guest, checking-in alone, brings back 2 visitors for an evening and overnight - Baht 200.  Also cheap, but still a fee.

 

"Girl-Friendly" as far as I've been able to glean by the definition of this particular forum is: No Fee for 1st Guest if the Primary Guest checks-in alone.  (which would be the standard check-in behavior unless you get stopped on the way from the taxi to reception ... ha ha)

Therefore, my understanding is if you don't book initially with Sunshine as 2 persons, then they sting you for 100 B if you bring back a guest

 

This shouldn't be an issue, as I always book for 2 when I go to Pattaya and BKK

Seems to me that they're leaving it open to say - you may have booked with two people on [Agoda, Booking, Expedia, etc] but when you checked in, there was no one else with you, so that will be 100 or 200 per evening of LT ...

 

We all know that many of these policies are selectively enforced ... but it appears that this one would be particularly open to whatever reception felt like at the time:-)

I guess a way around that is to say to reception at check in, guest number 2 will be arriving shortly and could you let me know the moment they arrive

Having said that, it sounds like they like to take the piss, I'm not interested in playing games

 

I think I might give them a miss and stick with April Suites

 

Only reason I'm looking elsewhere is because the breakfast is so basic at April Suites

 

That's why I also asked what the breakfast was like at Sunshine...

Stayed there in 2014 payed no joiner fee breakfast good but not cheap 200/250 baht booked room only

Stayed for 4 nights  in 2015 - no joiner fees,pool is quite small.Decent bed and toilet

 

breakfast is the same old for all days,lots of large Indian groups stay here so its very noisy and breakkie finishes at 9
