Since stickman's archives are back up I took the liberty to re-read the Boss Hogg interview.

I think the chances of getting it are very low.. say for example you fuck 100 girls and one has it.. as per 1% suggested statistic. Technically you'd need to fuck that girl 100 times to get it, 0.3-0.9 % chance as quoted by valleyboy. So if your just shortiming around and making sure your not infected with other STD's then i think the risk is very low..

 

But nobody knows.. that crazy lady that i know had a friend that had "HIV" she said and all her hair started falling out apparently. Also her male friend 40 years old died in the bangkok hospital, he had been mongering for 10 years down soi 7 and soi 8.. he had caught HIV off a girl in Bangkok apparently. I dont know if he used protection but its scary.

 

The problem is in thai culture its a bit taboo.. no one wants to admit it, its hard to know if the girls are just trying to scare you to stop you fucking other girls.. god knows.. the only way to find out is by seeing the doctors.

 

When i went for a hiv test in my home town as soon as i said Thailand the woman looked very worried, she told me alot of guys have caught it from Thailand. That shit me up.

In Oz the stats say that if you are the High Risk group then you have a 2% chance of getting HIV.

That would be the take it up the arse and druggie groups.

There is a 5% chance of being killed in a car accident!

 

I suppose that these % would be up in Thailand. But not to a hieght that we need to be hysterical about.

 

About 4 months ago I had to get a hernia fixed in the BKK Pats hospital & they told me that I had to have the HIV test 1st. I was shitting myself as I have had 100's of TBG's unprotected. Just before I was knocked out a lovely little nurse gave me the thumbs up (Clean).

I am glad they didn't tell me of any other things like liver damage etc!

 

So it is like everything we do has a risk.

What worries me about the original post is that someone 'involved' in the business might just have a vested interest in promoting the services of a bar girl as completely safe .

I have read (on the net admittedly) that the chance of catching it while having unprotected vaginal sex with a HIV positive person is 1 in 1000 (ie 0.1%)

 

As some people have already stated there are some who stand to benefit from elevated infection rates. One of these are those promoting abstinence.

The same source of accurate figures we used when I was a volunteer on a Manchester aids project.

They are usually more accurate than the government ones as politicians 'tweak' the numbers sometimes!

 

The 80% number produced by a Thai academic recently were a load of bollocks though !

The new HIV Asian strain 'gets a ride' on other STD's , it seems , so is easier to transmit.

 

That's the truth , I wish it was otherwise .

HIV was not easy to transmit from a female to a male ( The W lib lot kept that quiet ! )

One thing to bear in mind is that small % chances don't mean that you have little chance of contracting HIV. Similar if you have a genetic disorder and say your offspring is born with it. The doctors say it's a 1 in 4 chance. That doesn't mean your other three kids must be normal, the next three could be affected.

 

Like HIV. Whatever % you quote, say 1%, doesn't mean you have to fuck 100 girls, potentially with the virus to get it. It may happen first time for you. There has to be a first time for someone otherwise it would never spread.

 

The moral is, if you do value your own health, and life, don't play Russian Roulette.

I got talking to this doctor that was working at Pattaya Hospital (not sure on the name) for the WHO, he told me that the WHO had sent him and 5 other HIV specialist to PTY because of the rise in cases with HIV. he could inform me that each month now there was approximately 30-35 new girls getting infected by HIV in Pattaya. They did not know howcome this high rise had occurred, but the goverment and WHO was very concerned. Yes there are alot of girls working in Pattaya, but the numbers were much higher than what was normal in other similar cities in the world.

There are other less harmful STDs like HPV that can be transmitted even with condom use.

I'm not so sure if HPV is prevalent in Thailand or not.

I have a private source of information. In my neighbourhood is a temple where they regularly burn the dead. Many an afternoon you can see the brown smoke dispersing over the sea.

They have loudspeakers which they normally use to give an obituary to the departing (in Thai). It is startling how many have to leave this world because of AIDS, among them ladyboys. Maybe the death rate is a reason why the percentage of AIDS seems to shrink.

The asian HIV can piggy back on other std's. When you give someone anal sex, they get little tears in there ring EVERY time. All you need is a bit of friction to create a sore on your bell end, then the sore is rubbed against the tears in her ring.

The reason why women get it so easy, if they have a sore or cut inside, from either an std, friction sores or more frequently damage from sex (due to bigger farang cocks and not wet from excitment) then all they need is a guy infected with hiv to cum up them. I jizz in them way to much. The funny thing is that we are very more likely to get hepatitis B from sex than hiv. I think Hepatitis B is pretty nasty. There is no know case where someone has passed on HIV to a partner once they are taking their antiviral drugs. And you are far more likely to catch HIV in the first stage of your partner being infected.

They put the cause of death is pnemonia in most cases. So if those figures are added in, then you can work out how many people in LOS really die from HIV.

 

I think long term mongerers that risk all the time, should get themselves circumcised, you are far less likely to catch HIV.
