bangkok room with a balcony

im planning my first trip to thailand in January,

this forum has been very helpful and provided very interesting reading

 

i want to book a hotel for my first 3 nights in bangkok and id love a balcony to chill on and watch the madness below, lol

 

closer to koh san road the better

 

any recommendations?

Most of the action in BKK is around lower Sukhumvit area.. thats where Nana plaza, Cowboy and a lot of the night clubs and massage places are.  KS Road is totally different, more backpackers.. much younger crowd. 

 

I have had some really good apartments with stunning views from the balcony through airbnb. Usually works out much better value for money as compared to a hotel..

Khaosan Road is a backpacker shit hole.

 

Stay near Nana BTS skytrain station or Asoke

 

Centrepoint Sukhumvit Soi 10 has some great 1BR apartments with balconies.  It has a tuk tuk to take you to and from Sukhumvit Road.

 

Phachara Suites on Soi 6 which runs off Soi 4 has rooms with balconies I think

I've decided to go straight to pattaya from the airport

I'm looking at private transfers from the airport and hotels in pat's
