Mae Sri Ruen  now has 26 branches, with three in Pattaya, one in Rayong and 21 in Bangkok, according to its  Website.748-mae-sri-ruen-on-beach-road

The other night I dropped into the branch on Beach Road next to Central Festival.  I wasn't looking for a full meal, but more a snack to tide me over until I ate with friends later that night.

I had the red pork with noodles for 50 baht.  I ordered it "dry"  (without broth) because I didn't want to fill up too much.

It was good, no complaints whatsoever.  The portion was small, but that's what I wanted.  M S R remains a safe bet for Thai food.  A lot of Thai families eat there as well as many farang.

Not much has changed inside or out since the OP in 2016.  Menu prices have gone up 5 or 10 baht on some dishes, that's about all.  You can still eat in air-conditioned comfort at close to street stall prices.

Nice review EP. Correct portions are tiny. A big eater needs to order many dishes but the food tastes yummy.

I often eat at the Jomtien branch next to the Outlets/Tesco complex. The 95% Thai clientele indicates it’s good and the price is right.

Very popular, often waiting for a table at lunchtime. The staff here really hustles too, so the wait is never long.

Really like this place - the desserts are excellent here too, Coconut Ice Cream and Mango Sticky Rice

This is my go to restaurant everytime I head to Pattaya. I am fond of their spicy chicken noodle with broth, fried chicken wings, grilled pork ... The list goes on.

I did however have an unpleasant moment one evening when I was sitting outside. There was a flying cockroach bugging a few of us that night. Now I sit inside in the evening [emoji23]697a820f30327d69ccbffd68597902e5.jpg12eba50272bb3c4d0bd5a0ff0f23b317.jpg
