Nice guest house this Christmas

Hi can anyone recommend a nice guest house, I'm coming to pattaya 2 weeks at Christmas. I usually stay in hotels but the prices have got shocking. Would like to spend anything from 1000 to 2000 baht per night. Anywhere along beach, 2nd road, soi boukhao, lengkee, etc.

At this stage it's likely to be a matter of finding a decent one that isn't fully booked.

You'll probably need to send out lots of emails to see what's available.

Try:

English Rose

Canterbury Tales

China Garden

Boomerang

Hunny Pot

i-Rovers

I'm sure others will be suggested.

Some cracking ones in that price range but availability may be your biggest problem

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

Try Booking.com , you can filter to your desired price and location -and check reviews from previous customers .

They have plenty of options available - most of time you pay nothing up front , payment made at hotel when you arrive or check out

I have been using them for years with no problems

A room of sorts can always be found but a good one in a favourable location over Christmas week is no picnic at short notice.

Yes I'm finding that out lol. I could be on back to hotels this trip and plan earlier to get a decent room at good value for next trip. I'll need to book something next couple days

I'm just kinda sick of wasting all the money on hotels, like when I have a lovely pool and go once in 3 weeks. And I usually only see the breakfast on the way home lol

I agree, a nice guest house or condo unit has better in room facilities than a hotel but the good ones around the Buakhao area get snapped up well in advance.

There's a thread saying 30% booked and likely to stay that way. Ummmm. Maybe it's a Christmas thing which I would have thought would mean little in Thailand.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'd recommend Bedtime hotel at Pattaya Klang. Just did a quick check for Xmas period and the price is still very reasonable. ~800 baht/ night.

    • Hi Guys

As many of you know we have been running now for 16 years and apart from one brief time when we were allowed PayPal, so could use the inbuilt donation function, we have tried to avoid asking for donations. We have certainly avoided being in anyones face about it.

      Sadly that has now changed.

The forum currently costs around $900 a month to operate. That includes Bangkok and Philippines but PA makes up the vast majority of it. This fee covers forum hosting, image hosting, notification emails and support.

Before anyone says "its expensive" please be aware we have tried for years to find better for cheaper - it just doesn't exist for the size we are. Also a lot of hosts wont Touch us anyway. Our current host is actually cheaper than the previous one but that brings its own problems.

      Moving on -

I would like to stress there is NO obligation whatsoever. Also, whatever happens the forum is going no-where!

Donators can CHOOSE to have their donation listed (probably in this thread or we can make a new one) or to remain anonymous. Likewise they can CHOOSE whether the amount is published or not.

There is no minimum, or maximum for that matter. ANY donation will be very gratefully received. We are very aware that many members are also having it tough these days.

We are still unable to promote/post PayPal addresses etc on the forum so would ask that anyone who would like to make a donation to PM me, or ask me here to PM you and we will sort out details via that PM.
