Hi Guys

 

This morning i booked my May/June trip for next year and i normaly use Expedia Travel or book direct with

the airline but this time decided to use a booking agent and save a little bit.

But i found it difficult to know which one to use so i decided to read some reviews to see who comes out best.

So i started to read reviews from Travel Trolley, Travelbag, Opodo and a couple of others but i found the

reviews alarming and frightening and hardly a good review anywhere.

Among some of the comments were, watch for scams, avoid at all costs, check your credit card, poor relations

bad customer services and so on, hardly what you want to read when your booking a flight with any of them,

So without checking Lastminute.com reviews and i had booked a flight with them to Bangkok many years ago

i proceeded to book my flights with them to Bangkok this morning at a good price of £363.35.

Everything went fine book the flights paid using my card got a text message on my mobile in just a couple of

minutes with trip PNR Etihad ref/no and details and received an email with details and e-ticket no all done in a

couple of minutes.

Still a little nervous and a couple of hours later i went on the Etihad Airways website to check my booking with

the PNR Ref i signed in with my membership number then imput the Pnr ref no and everything was there regarding

my trip i was even able to book my seats there and then all done and a relief all went well.

In the end i was delighted with Lastminute.com and how easy it was to book my flights in so little time, but after

this i looked for some reviews about Lastminute.com and have to say they were worst than all the others put

together, So guys who are the best booking agents out there that don't give you any hassle.

Think i would use Lastminute.com again but not for combined flight and hotel because that had the most complaints.

Used Last Minute to book a flight to France for the football, but didn't get a ticket for that game. I paid extra for their cancellation insurance and got a voucher to use against a future flight booking (within 12 months).

I used that towards my late trip to Thailand last month & it worked fine.

No problems with that booking either. All fine.

 

I used Fly Sharp (part of Southall Travel) to book my flight for next December as they were one of the very few agents who had the very cheap Biz fare with Gulf. As soon as I got the confirmation email I checked & my booking was showing on the Gulf website.

I got a bit worried when I got an email asking me to phone urgently, but it was just because Gulf had changed the scheduled slightly & Fly Sharp were checking it was still OK for me. I was in Thailand and when I told them they immediately called me back on my Thai mobile to save me paying for the call.

So far, very happy with them - though I haven't flown yet!

 

On the other hand, I won't use West-East Travel again. I had to cancel a flight I'd booked with them and they took almost 2 months to refund the money.

I have done literally hundreds of bookings with aggregator sites like Momondo and Skyscanner.. they in turn point you towards the airlines or expedia or bestjet or  any number of agents... I have NEVER had an issue with any of the agents, nor have the people I have booked flights for.

IMO, Skyscanner and Momondo are without peer. for what I do...  I book with those guys and the companies linked with them, with absolute confidence.

I recommend that you check reports on some agents using Skyscanner, I was a bait-and-switch victim with one of them, a few years back.

So guys who are the best booking agents out there that don't give you any hassle.

 

 

Think you know who I'm going to say in Travel Trolley and Crysta l Travel  (deliberate gap).....I acknowledge some have problems but both have been the dogs bollacks to me. Combined together with all the Thai Girls I book for plus my own tickets have had well over 100+ from those pair and never ever once an issue.

 

TT went above the call of duty when Oman had overbooked by 40 odd seats in March of this year Bangkok London. Rang them and told them to put a rocket up Omans arse an hour later call back to say I've been reinstated by airline.....Would have been easy for them to ignore me from 6000 miles away

I can't praise Travel Trolley and Fly Sharp enough.

 

I have never had anything but fantastic service from them.  I have used both dozens of times in the past and always had by booking confirmed and eticket sent to me within a few hours, at the original price displayed.

 

I don't use anyone else

Before using any 3rd party agent, rather than booking direct with the airline, I would advise to at least have a check on the Trip Advisor Air Forum to see if your 3rd party agent is one of the better ones or one of the ones to be avoided

 

Over 95%  of complaints on there are by people who booked with 3rd party agents, rather than direct with the airline
