Understand this route to stop end of Oct 2017.

Prob for the best. U.S. Airlines suck for long haul flights, or anything leaving the U.S. period.

I've flown so many times in and out of BKK from the US but I can't remember the last time I flew delta.  It's always been China Air or EVA for me, but then again I always fly out of LAX.

Delta was my primary choice out of Louisiana, since I've been flying with them primarily for nearly 20 years (domestically and only 1 trip to CR).  This change will impact my first planned trip in Nov 2017.  They booked me on the NRT - BKK leg on ANA.  Hopefully that 7.5 hours will not be bad.  Luckily ANA is in the same terminal as Delta in NRT.

Next trip I will look into other carriers maybe out of LAX or Dallas/Houston.

What an ignorant statement.

True. Delta is trying to de-emphasize NRT as a minihub due to adding multiple Haneda flights. They also dropped NRT-HKG flight last year and added SEA-HKG to replace it. Sorry to see it go-no more free flights as a Delta retiree.

Is he wrong though? The hard product on most US metal is dated. The soft product is mediocre. The stewardesses on long haul flights all seem to be the ones with the most seniority and thus are super jaded.

Ignorant?  How so?  In my lifetime, I've travelled the distance of the earth, to the moon and back more than 8 times.  I've flown more airlines, than you've ridden in makes of cars.

I know what I'm talking about, I started flying at the age of 6 months.  U.S. Airlines are jack, garbage shit.  I know, I have to fly them every 2 weeks, and I detest them.  The service is crap, the food is mediocre (at best), the flight attendants ugly (since there's no standards), you get nickel and dime'd to death, and have a value rating of ZERO to the airline.

ANA, Singapore Airlines, Etihad or even Korean Air treat you like royalty when you walk aboard. Delta is like being packed aboard La Amistad, except on that means of travel, they allowed room for your chest to rise up and down so you could breathe.

U.S. Airlines = Garbage

And if you disagree, you likely fly once a year on a inner state flight.

Agreed.

Too bad about this schedule cancellation. For a few years now, Delta has offered fully flat bed seats with direct aisle access in their business class product. That's something some other carriers still can't offer. For the trip I'm on now, I flew over on a Korean Air A380 in business class with no direct aisle access. JAL's Dreamliner's business class seats were all lie at an angle when they started, but they have apparently learned the error of their ways and are retrofitting them with a competitive product now. Emirates new business class for its 777's will roll out in a couple of months and it's a pretty dated product (2-3-2). On the other hand, American Airlines now has a nice business class product.

So, I'd agree that blanket statements like 'all US airlines suck', etc. are ignorant.

I fly internationally x2-3 per month. While I agree Singapore and several Middle Eastern airlines off top shelf service, Delta'sTPAC service beats Korean in the lie flat seats all with aisle access, as well as quicker door-to-door times from the US East Coast. I also find Delta TATL better than most of what's on offer from my Delta hub on the US East Coast - better business class product than Air France and KLM.

With the NRT-BKK route disappearing, other options add at least a couple of hours transit time for me or have crappy connections, such as through CAN or PVG. I can only hope Delta would code share a connection through NRT on ANA as I would much prefer that over Korean through SEL.
