Hey all,

First trip to Thailand (Or even outside of Canada) this either, October or January depending on how things pan out.

I want to be close to the action at Soi 6, what are some good hotel options?

I'm looking to spend roughly 1000B - 1600B a night depending on quality of the place.

Also preferred place with a safe, I see some horror stories on these forums regarding them getting broken into.

Appreciate it, any further tips welcome as well.

How long are your holidays? I find being right in the action becomes tiresome after a while.

i'd rather eat a fishes face than a steak and kidney pie

3 Weeks, but believe me I won't get tired of it. I'm over due for this for sure.

I don't even mind staying in the same hotel for the 3 weeks, I just want somewhere close to the action that is reliable.

I stayed at Baboona Beachfront Living hotel during my first trip in 2010 and I loved it. It's on Beach Road and a half a block over from Soi 6. The location is easy to find for any taxi driver from the airport or locally. (Very important - especially if you're a newbie).

There were tons of hot desk clerks working a Baboona too. I almost fucked one of them but I didn't want to shop too close to home base.

The view of the beach from my room was amazing and the girls really like sitting out on the balcony. I have several pics of the hotel on my TR --> "n0wl8tr's Virgin Voyage to Heaven". I highly recommend the place.

Congrats on your first trip.....Be prepared...it is going to change your life forever.....

The action is everywhere. Stay close to the baht bus route and you've got quick and easy access to most places for 10 baht

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

Soi 6 (and many other sois) are pretty loud till the wee hours so sleeping can be an issue.

Not sure on room rates nowadays, but the Pinewood residence is across second road from Soi Six.Big rooms and onsite sauna, but maybe over your budget.

Quiet at night ,( or it was ) set back from road behind the main Bangkok bank.
