I really hope so, I am visiting there beginning August.

Will be watching closely to see if it is true.

It was also rumoured that the a5 day waiver would be changed to a 30 day waiver.

Got this off the Vietnamese embassy website for the UK.

On 30 June 2016, there are media reports in Viet Nam on the decision by the Vietnamese Government to extend visa exemption policy for British, French, German, Italian, Spanish citizens travelling to Viet Nam (for all purposes) for a period of up to 15 days (single entry, not returning within 30 days) to 30 June 2017.

(Note: According to Vietnam immigration law, to be eligible for visa exemption, your passport must have at least six months validity. If you wish to enter Viet Nam at least two consecutive times without visa, the next entry must be at least 30 days after the previous exit. Otherwise, you still need a visa).

Up to now, the Embassy has not yet received formal notification on this decision from relevant authorities in Viet Nam.

Between now until the formal notification is received by the Embassy, all visa applications will be processed as normal and all related fees will be non-refundable. Please take note of this information before deciding on your visa application.

In accordance to NOTICE 3, all visa applications received by the Embassy before 12.30 p.m BST, 30 June 2016, have been processed and applicable fees are non-refundable regardless of the travel dates.

Further notice will be released immediately upon receiving new information.

Thank you.
