‘I Watched Him as He Died,’ Witness to Disabled Man’s Murder Recalls.

 

BANGKOK — Ananchai Chaiyadech was working in his office Sunday morning. Outside, a group of young men who had been drinking for six hours passed a bread stall and taunted the disabled man working there.

“They were so drunk, you could see it in their eyes,” said the lawyer, estimating they drank from 2am until 8am.

 

That man, Somkiat Srichan, took offense and shouted back. Ananchai felt both powerless and horrified by what happened next, as he watched the six men use knives and bricks to stab and beat Somkiat, who lacked the use of one leg and tried hopping away, to death in the street.

This is a disgusting and heinous crime and I hope they get convicted to death, the only good thing is that it was captured on the digital devices we take for granted nowadays.

Senseless violence fuelled by alcohol and you have a loss of life. These stories are being captured for everyone to see and reminds me to stay clear of drunks. But even if they don't attack the innocent, they then get behind the wheel of a car and cause more senseless destruction.

I came upon it by accident when I let a YouTube video play on into the next and the next....there are a few but thankfully none as extreme as this.

 

I wondered about posting it but it played on my mind....and I did obviously.

 

In the animal world this can happen as a form of euthanasia where a sick or weak animal is disposed of by other members and I saw it many times in groups of pigs kept in close confinement.

Out in the wild such unfortunates are usually left to die in peace and with more dignity.

 

It says something about these people that one has to look to the animal kingdom in search of a comparison.

This was not a random act in the heat of the moment.

Although the victim may have said the wrong thing, we're told that the murderers actually went to fetch their swords to cut this cripple down.

Despicable act.
