'Could' and 'may' ... scientist looking for extra money for research ...

It's unbelievable with all the evidence occurring that people think there is no Global Warming :Think1:

In Australia maximum temperature records have been broken for the last few years and  near our country climate change has made Pacific Islands vanish ...

Global warming is an industry based on computer modelling that has less than 20 % accuracy....Why ?

Because it's not supported with any meaningful statistical data.

Any reason why the mantra was changed from "Climate change" to "Global warming" ?

In Australia there is no average, we live in a country of extremes, every time we have a hot dry spell the Global warming pundits shout the same hysteria.

When we have severe flooding or drenching rains they're silent.

I sat at dinner with one Dr Roger Stone some 10 years ago, he's a noted climatologist and advocate of Global warming.

We discussed the future of farming (I've been a farmer since retirement) in the south east Queensland region, and his synopsis was that the rainfall would steadily decrease and temperatures would rise on a yearly basis.

In short his prediction was that the region would become a desert within a decade or so.

Since then we've experienced "the one in a hundred year Floods" that were so widespread the state Capital was affected; and surprisingly reliable rainfall through the winter months.

Admittedly over 70% of Queensland this year is now drought affected, but let's understand that most of Australia has always suffered droughts and that most of Australia has only ever been marginal farming land at best.

The worst drought in Australia's history was around 1898 to 1902, if we had the same population now as then; much of our current population would have perished from thirst.

A few years ago I knew an old and successful grain farmer here, at that time he'd been alive 93 years, all spent farming in the same district.

George's considered opinion was that nothing had really changed, as long as he could remember droughts with tough seasons; then rain and good seasons had come and gone all through his life.

Personally I don't put much store in the inner city Green folks opinion on environment and climate; Why ?

Because they don't have to live in it, or with it; they rely on the media and "experts" bullshit for their point of view.

Almost without exception Australians living on the land (not just farmers) keep meticulous Rainfall records, we have to.

We're the people who conserve our water resources, we collect rainwater from every roof on every shed and our Houses.

At my place I have 8 large rainwater tanks and never run out of water, people here in the bush don't live in a culture of waste.

We know everything we use and depend upon is finite, can you say that about the inner city "Greens" ?

No doubt about it, we live in an era of deceit, a manipulated media, and a population totally out of touch with the reality of life.

My apologies if your skinny Latte got cold reading this.....

Well maybe they meant Jizz .....

Would be more believable if the folks making these predictions didn't make their livelihood from the hysteria.

Al Gore predicted Manhattan would be under water by now as have other climate chicken littles.  They keep moving the deadline when their warnings don't come true...kinda like those preachers claiming God is coming or the cults with the aliens coming to save them on a certain day.

In the 70's they were all saying we were entering a new ice age...then we had global warming...now it's climate change...whatever comes next will be sure to line more "scientists", government, and doomsayers pockets.

Not said there's no global warming but this article was so full of 'if' , 'may' and 'could' that is was a bit obvious .

Ohh and global warming is a thing we're not going to stop or we need to kill at least half the globe's population ...

Australia's leading "expert" and influential "Climate change" then "Global warming" nabob was "Doctor" Tim Flannery (you can be one if you become a professional student for 8 years or so, and pander to leftist university lecturers.)

Tim was being paid $240,000 every year (courtesy of taxpayers) by the Australian ALP governments led by Rudd and Gillard (they took turns) for doing fuck all and nothing; other than espousing his obviously biased opinions.

His professional qualification was a Doctorate in the "Anthropology of Kangaroos", in addition to wearing a large brown brimmed hat, ever so slightly rumpled blue jeans, and an open neck collared shirt whenever the media focused on him.

Tim soon became the darling of the media, gay Greens and idealistic teenage girls who were on a crusade to make the world a nicer and kinder place.

And there folks is a typical example of the leading exponents of the "Climate change/ Global warming"  left wing mafia.

Something to think about.

I fill my glass almost to the top with lots of rum   and cola.

I add a couple of big lumps of ice  and the glass  is now full to the brim, with the ice sitting up proud  above the liquid like an iceberg .

Over the next few minutes the ice melts.

The glass does not have liquid spilling down the side.

Why?

Global warming  is a myth.   I do however acknowledge cyclical climate change/variation

You can lead a horticulture but you can't teach a prototype

I remember being taught in college that the periodicity of climate from peak temperatures to trough and back to peak again is 50,000 years. We have about 100 maybe 150 years of temperature and barometric data. So on the basis of 2 tenths of 1 per cent of the data we are expected to make accurate predictions about imminent future weather? How?

We should clean up the air because we breathe the air and we should clean up the water because we drink the water. But all you pseudo-scientists will have to wait about another 500-1000 years to know if we are in a new ice age or a roaring inferno.

The wife and I were very happy for 20 years, then we met.

Male, the capital of the Maldives is 2 feet underwater today. My dive master showed me a funny video of him dropping his kids at school this morning. Blokes carrying their wives in Burkas across the street. Water higher than foot pedals on the motor bikes.

Why?

Because it bucketed rain here last night and in the center it is below sea level. They have pumped most of it out by lunch time. I am about to take get on a boat and go and have a look. Will post if I get any good pics.

@Captain Courageous when you use derogatory remarks like " My apologies if your skinny Latte got cold reading this....." you loose the argument..

Obviously there are several BM who are non believers in Climate Change or Global Warming... fair enough..
Having read the replies from BM's several are giving Anecdotal evidence supporting their belief there is no change.. no BM is coming up with a scientific study disproving Climate Change.. Google this and you will see the huge number of research findings supporting Climate Change..

This topic was flogged to death in a Philippines-addicts forum and I am not going on with it here..

But what is interesting is the almost religious zeal that BM's approach this topic .. is this Scientific Issue a new religion for some ?

Find us a Scientific study that "proves " climate change .You are the ones that have to disprove the null hypothesis as scientific edicts dictate.

Strangely "climate science " doesnt seem  have to submit itself to rigorous scientific inquiry, and therein lies its downfall.

A large part of proven science started off as theories which were proven only after decades. Of course it may not happen, lets just wait and see, that'll work.

Lets just agree that based on the size of climate changes hands and feet it is surely a ladyboy and move on to the important things

This is the most interesting, enjoyable non-mongering thread I have experienced since joining this Forum some years ago.

I am certainly no climatic or geophysical expert. I do believe that the bulk of this climate change hype is perpetrated by wannabes researchers & authors looking for grants & notoriety. I spent years in graduate school listening to profs & professional students who were brilliant academics but who couldn't fall down a flight of steps without fucking it up.

I further believe that climste change is a natural, cyclical phenomenon little affected by human influence. The Ice Age came & went without human involvement. I believe these climate changes cycle over eons of time, not just over centuries or even millennia.

How long have we been studying the climate? How much do we really know about Mother Earth? We can find water on Mars, but we cannot find a missing jumbojet in one of the Earth's oceans!

CHEERS!
