How do KLM compare to Emirates? Emirates is 50 euro more expensive for my planned dates which Id gladly pay if the service is better but the route V KLM is 2 or so hrs quicker, which should I choose?

Emirates is far better

Emirates will be better no question but 2 hours quicker and 50 Euro cheaper via KLM might appeal as well

In economics, "cattle class" not recognize the change. I like the Emirates, as well as KLM are bad both companies. If it but time and cost effective KLM, it would be my choice for KLM.

I deal with exactly the same / similar problem versus Austrian Emirates, where Emirates is about 52 Euro more expensive, but the Austrian has been a direct flight from Vienna and better connections and times for me.

I really like the arrival time of the KLM flight and taking that you'd be checked in to your hotel, unpacked, showered and ready to hit the streets before you get through immigration with Emirates.

Personally I also prefer the long KLM flight rather than having the break half way.

Having said all that just about everything on the Emirates flight is better.

It isn't that KLM are terrible but Emirates are just better.

First thing, would you prefer a short hop followed by a 12-13 hour flight or 2 flights of 7 hours?

That's the big difference between the 2 options.

How do the flight departure and arrival times suit? How do the stopover times compare?

After that, I prefer Schipol to Dubai airport but Emirates better on board than KLM.

Even with the new planes, I think you get slightly more legroom with Emirates though the seats are slightly narrower.

Finnair is basically a budget airline.

You've only put flights out not back.

Arrival time much better with KLM.

I doubt anybody understands why you posted this ?, are flights with airlines that allow trade unions better or worse ?

Have flown with Etihad and KLM both from DUB.

KLM flight was much easier. AMS is a decent airport and one longer flight suited me.

Middle eastern carriers will be better on board but the in air time is a pain.

There are some horror stories about how Emirates treat their crew.

Longer flying, more working hours, shorter breaks.

Apart from the fairness issue, which may or may not bother you, it could also have safety & service implications.

After several years working in Saudi, I try to avoid MIddle Eastern airlines but that's a personal choice & I don't try to influence anyone else.

I heard Finnair has the new Dreamliner Boeing 787 & it's supposed to be very good...

KLM is a longer flight & the early morning arrival to BKK is far better but Finnair is the one i'll go for..

I'm hoping to book my new year flight with them when the price drops...

Good luck...

No. They have the new Airbus 350 & I think they've had quite a few 'teething problems' with them.

In the end its going to be a personnel choice wether you prefer the short/long flight with KLM/Finnair or 2x7hr flights with Emirates. While you are in the air definitely Emirates. I like the 01.35am return as well, i've had a good drink and ready for a sleep.
