August Suites ticking all the boxes for my next trip:some questions

Very close to booking August Suites for my next trip , it ticks all my boxes in that Its cheap 1250 baht a night, has a sofa and a walk in shower . My 1 concern is that it may be a little far away from the action. Is getting too and from Walking Street or LK Metro a breeze? Also is their room service? Whats the pool like and is their food/drink service at the pool?Is there many good bars very close by?I have stayed in the Marriott and the Areca before

Close to Soi 7 & 8 and within easy reach of LK Metro and Walking Street by baht buses - overall good location and tucked away to be quiet. hotel getting tired but at 1250 a night a good price. Nice pool and bar for daytime drinks but again needs attention as deck was lifting and looking tired when I stayed there last year. I would say 2.5 star at best now. If you could get Areca (Evergreen under 2000) or LK Rennaisence for under 1500 baht a night better choice - otherwise go for it

The showers in the bath in the Areca are a deal breaker for me

Me too.

Bloody dangerous with high sided tubs and slippy floors.

August Suites is walking distance to Soi's 7 & 8, Central Festival, Made In Thailand Complex beer bars, LK Metro & Soi Honey....though you'll probably wanna catch a Baht bus to Soi 6 & Walking St.

Just be aware that this hotel gets in a lot of large number of Chinese families....you might be inundated with screaming kids at the pool area, also you might have 3-4 families having their room doors open & using the hall-ways as like being in a condo....fucking loud bastards!  I was so pissed off i've never gone back...that was 4 trips ago!

BTW, i was one of their regular customers for around 4yrs.

what time of year was that?

Have you thought about LK Royal Suite or LK Royal Wing? D Apartment is also a good option.

How quiet is August Suites at night? Been considering it for my next trip as I spent most oft time last trip in So I 6, 7 8 and 13's. The hotel I stayed at last trip was too near the soi eight bar with a band playing until around 3am. There were a few nights I would have liked a quiet early night.

Very quiet, even though its in a great central area you wont get unwanted noise.Thats cos its set back a bit from central Pattaya road.I`ve stayed here twice and id recommend it!

Thanks.  Will definitely look at giving it a try next time I'm staying in Pattaya then.

They live 3 hours flight away so anytime there will be a lot.

If its low season will there be less noice? Im going in september .What hotel do you use now? Is April a good option, seems a little far away. Bare in mind I've only ever stayed in Areca, Marriott and PBR location. The stay is another on my radar

yes,, 2 minutes walk from second road

quality and price makes up for that IMO :GoldenSmile1:

All i can tell you is that the last two visit's to August Suites were in the months of March & August....both times had large numbers of Chinese families that were fucking load throughout my stay.

I took my lady to the pool area & 10 kids were going absolute fucking nuts! It was like i was at a fun park...ridiculous! I complained though it fell on deaf ears....they're obviously catering to a NEW kind of customer...''family customers''

Recently i haven't stayed at a hotel, i've been staying at a guesthouse off Soi Buakhao...much cheaper & quieter though it doesn't have a pool. Why don't you have a look at this http://www.dapartment.com/index.php

I wouldn't stay at April...little far from the action though Areca & Marriott are a good choice of hotels, though check out Soi 10...it has heaps of good hotels & it's right in the middle of Patts..

Booked August Suites after reading all good reports on here so it better be good!!. Going on 3rd of July for 7 nights so I will try and give you a report on the place when I get back.

It's a good property, well located, has parking, pool side is probably the best. Foyer and staff are great, a comfortable feeling all round. One block to Beach Road and transport to WS, across the street is Soi Bua Khao, great food near-by. Highly recommend it.

I must be missing something here. 1,250 baht good price for a tired 2.5 star ????

Do yourself a favor & check out 247 Boutique hotel on booking.com  Great location, great room, good free breakfast, great rooftop pool.

Nope, no financial interest in the place, just a great place to stay with NO Chinese.

Cheers.....     Mal.

How is thegym in the 247, both Agoda and Wotif don't have any pics?

If you don't like walking a few hundred metres to get a bike, also smaller rooms than April and August, but the best bed I've slept on in Pattaya.

Cheers
